This is a member of the Persian family, usually called 3-1 Persian, or sometimes just half Persian. It has a similar interlocking appearnce to full Persian, however it is only round on one side, the other reamining flat. It can be woven into a 6-1 sheet.

A variation known as 4-1 half Persian. It is a variety of half Persain, and forms a much more dense weave then 3-1 Persian. However, it still retains the aspect of having one flat side. (It is rather to 3-1 Persian what Eurpoean 6-1 is to 4-1)

An example of what a European 10-1 looks like. It is nearly solid and has a really nice feel to it.

A European 4-1 column. It is similar to boxchain, but is thicker and more round. It is made by taking strip of 4-1, folding it over itself, and closing it up. It has a very interesting feel to it, surprisingly different then one might expect. Almost soft. It makes very nice jewlery.

Persian 3-1 column. It has a very interesting, almost insectiod look I think. It is a bit bulky for bracelets or chokers, but might make a good necklace, or hanging decoration.

I have seen this weave called "grizzly" though why I don't know. It is a full Persian with the "grain" all running in the same direction. This gives it a different look from regular full Persian, as well as making a more dense chain.
