The first piece is a head dress made of aluminum.  It hangs down about 22 inches and is very light.  It would be quite easy to add crystals, bells, or use colored chains to make a piece like this.  An example of that is shown below.  The second head dress is made with blued steel (black rings) and gold tone chains.  Altough not the sort of thing one is likely to ware all that often, I find head dresses like this to be very attractive pieces, and ones I enjoy making very much.
This is showing two pieces. There is an open coif made of galvanized steel.  On open coif has no mantle, and is not stitched closed at the throat.  The shirt is made largely out of Japonese 4-1, with some accents of Japonese 6-1 at the arms and the lower edge.  It is made with two different rings sizes.  The rings which are facing front are 1/2 inch diameter, with smaller 1/8 inch diameter rings linking them together.  All the links are aluminum, making this quite light.

Another shirt.  This one is made of 14 gauge, 1/2 inch links fo galvanized steel in the European 4-1 weave.
A tie.  Worn basically like a long necklace.  It is made of galvanized steel, however the rings are fairly large for the wire gauge, making it light in any case.  It is not so easy to make out in this picture, but I have used 6-1 at the top to simulte the change in texture you would get around the knot in a cloth tie.
Here is an example of a more modern design.  Made of plated steel chains put together is a diamond patter.  Patterns like this are great becuase they are easy to make, easy to ware, and might suit people who are uncomfortable with all the attention they might get from waring more historical maile in public.
A head band/mask.  Made with 1/8" black steel rings with galvanized steel for the diamond pattern in the big dag.  The hanging chains are spiral, with black and galvanized intertwined.  It has a sown elastic in back to hold it on.
