Chapter

"How'd
you beat him?” Kia stammered. Chevrelet
answered, "With
style."
He stepped closer, "I was sent here to kill
you," he said.
This
girl looked like she was harmless to even a 'fly. He
stepped
closer, closed "eyes, and blasted her.
He expected her to be gone, but she stood, whimpering softly.
How
did she survive? Chevrelet stepped
closer but Kiasaki leapt
on
him and knocked him to the ground. She
prepared to blast him
when
a yelp came from behind and a disk of energy knocked
Kiasaki
off the boy and to the ground 10 yards away.
Chevrelet stood up and saw, with astonishment, that
Kia had
been
his savior. Isuzu stood.
"Let's
finish this kid," he said. But
Chevrelet replied, "No.
That
creep Tarafin wants me to kill people for his pleasure,
but
I won't anymore."
Isuzu's
eyes widened.
"Do you know where he is?" he asked hopefully.
“Yeah,”
Chevrelet answered, "His base is twenty miles to the
northwest
inside the first mountain you come to. About half a
mile
up the mountain is a meadow with a semicircle pond in it.
Just
beyond that, meadow is a grove of trees. A
pile of rocks in
it
is in the shape of a star. In the
center is a num-pad. Type
this
code, three, five, eight, two, seven, three, four, six."
Isuzu
and Kiasaki went in the direction specified by Chevrelet.
Chevrelet
turned back to Kia.
"Aren't you going with them?" she
choked out.
"Not yet " Chevrelet answered. "Are you alright?" Kia
nodded
slowly.
"How did
you survive that blast?" Chevrelet went on, "No one
has ever
survived it."
Kia smiled weakly. "I don't
know." She paused, then asked, "Who
are you?"
"I'm Chevrelet, who are you?"
"Kia."
"What were
you doing out here?" Chevrelet asked.
"Looking
for that guy," Kia replied.
