"Kanata" was imported into the BRAVEHEART herd for his influence of +*B Price O The Field Luke, who appears on both sides of his pedigree. We are long-time fans of "Luke" daughters for their style, strong general appearance and outstanding mammary systems. **We are very sad, however, to announce that we recently lost Kanata very suddenly in February, 2004.**
Kanata was very tall, upstanding and powerful. His photos above are from when he was a kid, but he really grew into a tremendous buck!! We were pleased with his spring of rib, depth of barrel and long, elegant neck blending into his sharp shoulders. He also exhibited regal breed character which passed to his offspring.
We have retained two daughters in our herd, Braveheart Little Miss Lynn (VG89/86) and Braveheart She-Ra (VG88/86). A third daughter, Braveheart Lady Arwen - also a first freshening two year old - scored VG88 overall with a VG88 mammary this July. All three daughters show what we wanted Kanata to add to and maintain within our herd - strength of general appearance and dairy character with a long bone pattern, and capacious, well attached udders. A son, Braveheart Lord Graydon, littermate brother to Miss Lynn classified VG89 as a two year old this July.
We are also pleased to announce that Kanata's littermate sister, Price O The Field Kathryn finished her Permanent Championship last season as a first freshening two year old, collecting 2XGCH, 2XBest Doe in Show and 2XBest Udder. She also linear appraised at 89 VEVE. |
