John Archibald Duffy

This is a small page in memory of my grandfather John Archibald Duffy. Here is a picture of him as a young man in Abraham's Cove Newfoundland. He is kneeling on the far left and his brother Charlie is the gentlemen standing on the far right.

I was looking through old family photographs and I came across this poem written by my Aunt Marg Buckle, when he passed away in April 1996. I thought that I could immortalize my grandfather in my own little way by putting together some pictures of him with this poem.

I know I didn't ask permission to use the poem Aunt Marg, but I thought you wouldn't disapprove. The poem basically sums up how we all felt about him, and how we miss him dearly

" Dad "- A poem
In loving memory of John Archibald Duffy

Our hearts have all been broken
Since you have passed away,
We would have done anything
To help you stay

Please God, Help us to understand,
Why our father had to leave
He was the best Dad in the world
And it hurts us so grieve

Our memories we'll cherish
In our lives every day.
It makes the road we travel
Seem easier along the way

Our family has been close to him
And have been for many years
He gave us so much happiness
That's why we shed our tears

Dad, Don't worry about your angel
We'll keep her safe and warm
We'll make sure she's happy
And protect her from all harm

So God, let his star shine on us
To brighten up our day
To help us in our troubled times
We'll have along the way

Love Always

Margie
