| By: Darlene Thacker March 7th, 2001 Heavens Gate I asked my Lord, Please show the way that I may come back home. To once again return to Thee and stand before Thy throne. Remembering that night I prayed and though it seemed at length, I simply asked the Lord if He would, please just give me strength. The narrow path that leads the way to enter Heavens gate It somehow seems much shorter now. Lord, please dont say, Im late. It seemed my prayer was set aside, my trials were coming still. In closing I would say, All things, according to Thy will. I saw a hungry child in need and gladly I did give. I prayed, Dear Lord, please take my hand and guide each day I live. Lord, when my trials seem burdensome please make my load seem light. And as we sleep I pray that Thou would keep us through the night. I comforted a friend who had a few days left on earth. I loved her and I wondered if she knew our friendships worth. Again I got down on my knees, inquired of Heavens gate. I asked, Dear Lord, please hear my prayer and please, dont say Im late. Then suddenly a voice came clear and gently touched my soul. He whispered, Child, that night you prayed was when I took control. You offered your whole life to me, youve kept your first estate. That night you offered up that prayer, you entered Heavens gate. |
