The Basics
A Beyblade is a special top designed for battle with other Beyblade tops. Beyblades are constructed with five different parts:
The Bit Chip: This is a special decorative piece that snaps on to the Attack Ring to make the Beyblade look complete. Most Bit Chips will have a sticker of a BitBeast on them. The use of the Bit is optional. Some Bit Chips are smaller and require a glass piece to hold them in. These smaller bits will break off more easily.
The Attack Ring: This determines your Beyblade's strength and pattern of attack. Attack Rings can be built to attack your opponent, to defend your own Beyblade against your opponent's attacks which wear the enemy out, to keep your Beyblade's endurance up and keep it spinning, or a combination of attack, defense or endurance. A more aerodynamic Attack Ring results in more endurance.
The Weight Disc: To keep your Beyblade spinning, it needs weight to stay stable, therefore keep spinning. The heavier its Weight Disc is, the more of a defensive mode your Beyblade will take. The smaller ones are usually the best in my opinion, it leaves your Attack Ring room to attack, instead of the Weight Disc attacking. Such examples are the Six Heavy, the Eight Heavy, and the Ten Heavy. The Balance Weight Discs are pretty good as well.
Spin Gear: The spin gear determines which way your blade will spin. Right (clockwise) or Left (counterclockwise) spinning can either help or hinder you depending on your Attack Ring, so study your parts before determining which way it should spin.
Blade Base: The Blade Base is the most important part. Based on it's tip and shaping, it determines how your blade moves around the BeyStadium, it also plays a big factor in spin time. Flat Bases will shoot your blade across the stadium wildly. Semi-Flat bases give more of a balance between Attacking and Defending. They usually have fair endurance. Sharp Bases spin for a longer period, not factoring attacks. Some Combinations will let you choose, such as Dranzer S' base, the "Spiral Change Base", which has two modes, Attack, and Endurance. Another example is Dranzer F's base, "Flame Change Base", which has tips for all three modes.
There are also seperate parts which help you launch your Beyblade into the battle stadium.
Shooter / Launcher: Your Beyblade's Spin Gear has two prongs on adjacent sides of it, between the holes of the Attack Ring. The launcher has two long prongs on the bottom; attach the launcher's prongs to the beyblade by inserting it into the two holes, the corresponding prongs will attach.
Ripcord: Insert the ripcord into the hole of the launcher and push it all the way through until the part to hold is touching the launcher. Attach the beyblade and hold the launcher with your other hand. When you begin the battle, pull the ripcord as hard as you can to release the Beyblade for battle. |
