Chapter 4

They were all sitting around backstage at the venue that next night when Larry walked over to the table with Kevin, Kristin, Nick and Howie,
"Kristin, I saw Quinn yesterday."  She smiled and pulled a chair up,
"Here sit down, what is she up to?"  Howie was equally interested only Kevin seemed to notice the strange look on Nick's face,
"She got a raise at work and she has a new boyfriend."  Nick's ear perked up, that was something Larry didn't tell him yesterday.  Howie nodded,
"Where did you see her?  Is she here?"  Larry shook his head,
"She's probably back in Miami by now.  She was up here for the weekend visiting her parents.  They both work at Kennedy Space Center and she just drove over and we had lunch."  Kristin nodded,
"Wow, how is she looking?"  Larry smiled,
"Better than ever, I can't explain it."  He laughed a little and remembered Quinn's messages for them,
"Oh Kevin, Quinn said she's ready for debating whenever you are."  He laughed and Kristin rolled her eyes,
"Don't tell him that.  He'll bring her out on tour just so he can have someone to argue with."  Kevin laughed and rolled his eyes as Larry went on,
"And Kristin, she said N..the mafia struck again.  Some little joke you had in Mexico."  Kristin thought for a moment and then laughed loudly,
"Here today gone tomorrow."  They all looked around at her and Nick frowned,
"What does that mean?"  She shrugged,
"It's one of those things where you had to be there or it will seem stupid."  They all seemed to accept that and were quiet until Howie asked,
"Why didn't she come to the concert or to the hotel?"  They all seemed to glance at Nick who's eyes were concentrating on his plate of fruit,
"Well she couldn't stay that long.  She said something about family obligations and only being able to get away for a little bit."  They all looked at Howie as he laughed a little,
"Oh so I'm the only one who didn't get a little message?"  Nick stood up and mumbled something but no one could hear what he said.  Kristin sighed,
"Guess you aren't the only one Howie."  Nick threw his plate in the garbage and stormed out of the room,
"Well, she just sent you her love."  Kevin chuckled,
"Is that good enough D?"  Howie smiled,
"Yeah, so she didn't say about Nick?"  Larry shook his head,
"Not really.  No message for Nick but he hasn't talked to her since that time she flew up to New York and they had it out."  Kristin frowned,
"What?  They had it out?  I thought they just quit talking, figures something happened. I wonder what Nick did."  Larry immediately realized no one knew about New York and they definitely didn't know why Quinn and Nick parted ways,
"She went to see him in New York, when you guys did that VH1 special last year remember for that 90s music special."  Kevin and Howie nodded,
"And they got into it and never saw each other again."  Kevin frowned,
"What did they get into it about?"  Larry shook his head,
"I wasn't in the room."  It wasn't his place to tell Nick's business and these three busy bodies would fight and trip over each other getting to Nick to talk to him if Larry told them.  Kevin shook his head,
"Wait I didn't know Nick saw her then.  I thought the last time they saw each other was Mexico."  Larry nodded, he could tell them a little,
"After Mexico, they didn't see each other for like eight months or something.  They ran into each other during down time.  And then again when she went to New York to talk to him.  Apparently whatever happened, happened right before New York and she went up to New York to make it better, they had it out and that was the end of it."  Nick didn't know this was something he and Quinn had discussed at lunch, he would be totally pissed if he knew Larry knew so much.  The only reason he knew about Quinn's boyfriend and them getting caught in bed together was because Nick was drunk and talking when Larry went to check on him in his room.  He shook his head, nothing more pathetic than someone getting drunk by themselves in a hotel room.   Kristin cleared her throat,
"Well do you think she would mind if you gave me her number Larry?  I was going to go back to LA tomorrow but since you guys are doing Lauderdale, I think I'll ride down with you guys after the show tonight so I can see her tomorrow."  Larry nodded,
"That's a good idea."  He pulled out his phone and dialed her number, handing the ringing phone to Kristin,
"Is this her cell?"  Larry shook his head,
"Home."  Kristin nodded her head,
"Hello, Quinn.  It's Kristin Richardson.  How are you?  Wonderful, I'm great.  Listen we'll be down there tonight after the show and the guys have two concerts down there Tuesday and Wednesday nights.  We need to get together for lunch or dinner or something.  Ok, tomorrow night for dinner.  Probably Kevin, Howie, Larry and me.  No, I won't, ok, ok, that's cool bye."  She closed the phone and smiled,
"She had to go.  Dinner tomorrow night.  You guys aren't doing anything are you?"  Kevin thought for a moment,
"Nick and AJ have radio, that's all."  She began to stare off into space until Kevin waved his hand in front of her face,
"Honey, what are you thinking about?"  She smiled and shook her head,
"Nothing, just happy to see her again.  I'm gonna go get something to eat."  She stood and walked over to the table,
"Hey Kristin."  She smiled as she turned and looked at him,
"Hi Brian."
