| Chapter 3 Larry was in his room when his cell phone rang, "Hey, where are you?" It was Nick, "I'm in my room. What do you need?" He sat up waiting to see where the kid wanted to go, "I need to go get something to eat. I wasn't hungry before and I really don't want anything from room service." Larry shook his head, "No need to explain, I'll be right over. Stay there." Larry put on his shoes and made his way to Nick's room, he was three doors down this time. Which was much better than being on a different floor like the last hotel they were in. He knocked on the door, looking around as he waited for Nick to open the door, "You ready?" Nick nodded, "You didn't forget anything?" Nick looked around, patted himself, checked for his room key, his wallet and cell phone, "No." Larry laughed, "Young bucks, guess your hair looks cool like that." Nick laughed, "Yes, it's like organized chaos." Larry rolled his eyes, "I don't get it." Nick shrugged, "It's a white thing." Larry shook his head and followed Nick down the hall. He and Nick had a good relationship. He watched Nick go through the struggles of living life, only stepping in when he refused to watch him make a major mistake that he would regret like hanging around in a club where they sold dope and sitting in VIP with the biggest pusher. He watched the girls come and go the past year since he kicked Quinn out of his life. Watching Nick handle his situation with Quinn was insightful to say the least. Girls were demanding, rude, loved the attention that went with being his girlfriend and they remained after little squirmishes, fights and bad behavior. Quinn only had one chance, guess fidelity, on the girl's part, is the most important thing to him because he never looked back when it came to her and her mistake. They were sitting in the car as they waited in the McDonalds drive-thru when Nick called out to Larry, "So how did your meeting go with your friend?" He turned around and looked at Nick. Why the hell not? "Quinn is doing great." Nick's head snapped up quick and his looked at Larry. He was about to say something when he nodded and looked out the window. Larry was hoping for more of a reaction at the mention of Quinn's name in almost a year, "She got a raise at work, moved into a condo like 6 months ago and her brother moved to Atlanta." Nick nodded absent-mindedly, never saying a word. Larry sighed and turned back around. She was definitely out of his life forever. Nick munched on his fries as he stared out the window on their way back to the hotel, not really tasting them, just occupying his time with them. Quinn, he hadn't thought of her in months, it was difficult to not call her and invite her to some city, some club or his house for the weekend. Not that he couldn't find someone else, because there were plenty of numbers stored in his address book but sometimes he wanted her. As the scenery became more familiar he called out, "Go through the back, I don't want to be bothered." They parked in the back of the hotel and Nick was happy this hotel had a service elevator he could go up as he totally avoided fans who were probably sitting out front awaiting his return. They made it to his room, "Hey what are about to do?" Larry sighed, "Nothing, what's up?" Nich shrugged, "Wanna watch a movie? I bought one and I have't seen it yet." Larry nodded, "Sure." They settled in Nick's room and were completely into the movie when Larry's cell phone rang, "Hello?" Nick looked out of the corner of his eye, wondering if he should pause the movie or not, "Quinn, my girl, what's up?" Nick completely turned his head and looked at Larry. Larry stood up, held up his finger and walked out onto the balcony. Nick paused the movie, hoping that would make it quiet enough so he could hear what was going on but it wasn't enough since Larry had closed the door. What the hell was going on with them? He didn't even know they still talked and now she was coming up from Miami to have lunch with him in Orlando? Larry came back out and sat on the couch, "Ok, sorry about that. I'm ready now." Nick started the movie but as he watched he asked, "Is she ok?" Larry nodded, "Yeah she's fine." Nick sighed, not going to get any information by being general, "Is she here in Orlando?" Larry shook his head, "No." Nick rolled his eyes, he was doing this on purpose Nick thought, "So, she's not going to be at the concert tomorrow night?" Larry shook his head, "Nah, she just came to Orlando to have lunch with me. She's gone." Nick's eyes widened, "She came from Miami to have lunch with you and went right back?" Larry chuckled as he looked over at Nick. Nick knew he was enjoying this way too much, there has to be something in the contract about security guards frustrating their clients for entertainment purposes, "No, she's at her parent's house this weekend. They only live about an hour, hour and a half from Orlando. Something like that." Nick nodded and went back to his movie, "Oh." He wanted to smack that smug grin off Larry's face.
