Chapter 83a

He walked away, leaving me to wonder what he found out about me and why.  He also left me wanting more.  Who was this guy?  I knew he wanted me and the feeling was mutual, my curiosity had definitely been sparked.  I watched him waiting for him to turn around and look at me but he never did, he just kept walking.  I wasn't going to follow him but I was tempted and if he did know anything about me he wasn't expecting me to follow him either.  My heart nearly jumped out of my chest as I felt someone's hand on my shoulder,
"Hi Brehan."  I was face to face, well not really, with that Latin guy in Nick's band,
"Oh hi."  He smiled at me and sort of pointed at me with his drink,
"I told Nick it was you but he didn't believe me."  For the first time I looked away from him and I couldn't believe the person standing next to him was Nick.  He was in a tux and he was wearing thin wire-framed glasses.  I didn't even know he wore glasses.  Even if he didn't he should wear them more often, he looked amazing.  I remember the last time I saw him in a suit but this time was even more, I've never seen him look like this and I highly doubt he could get more attractive.  It had to be impossible,
"You look great kid."  I could see him admiring me and I decided to do a quick turn so he could get the full effect,
"You look beautiful."  I nodded and rolled my eyes,
"I look like a grandma don't I?"  He shook his head,
"No grandma I've ever seen."  Before I could say something else to get him to pay me another compliment Sarah walked over with Rebecca,
"Hi Nick."  His mouth visibly opened and he couldn't hide the admiration for her,
"Wow, you look amazing, gorgeous."  She smiled and held her head down momentarily before playing with his bowtie,
"You're the one who looks amazing."  He smiled,
"I feel so uncomfortable but you, you really look gorgeous."  It was sickening, I didn't want to hear it anymore.  Amazing, gorgeous and I got beautiful.  He bascially said she was the bestout of all the women here and that included me.  He couldn't take his eyes off her and I was put on the back burner.  I refuse to play second to anyone and that includes my friend.  I walked off and never heard anyone call out after me.  They had forgotten all about me as they were wrapped up in each other's beauty.  If I found Doug maybe I could have a little fun.
