Chapter 84

Sarah, words just can't explain how beautiful she looks tonight.  I didn't think this woman could look any better than I've seen her before but tonight she outdid herself.  She was, by far, the best looking woman at this thing.  Maybe Sarah was so hot to me because I've seen her naked and I know what's under that dress.  Speaking of that dress, it seemed to be made especially for her.  It was long and gray, there wasn't one special thing about it but overall it was just amazing.
"This is my friend Rebecca, Rebecca this is Nick."  I offered my hand and smiled at her as we shook hands,
"Hi Nick."  She was beautiful too.  Her long blonde hair hung below her shoulders and her green dress set off her green eyes.  She was tall just like Sarah and Brehan and her teeth stood out to me, they were perfect, perfect and white.  Between Sarah and Brehan I have yet to meet an unattractive woman in their circle.  This has to be some kind of record, something from out of this world.  I mean, every girl has an ugly friend with a great personality.  Howie, Rebecca and Sarah began talking about the event but all I could do was stare at Sarah.  I can still feel her hands on my back, her breath in my ear, see her look into her eyes while I slowly slid into her, warm and wet.  I wanted to hear her pant and moan my name, tell me I made her feel good.  I need a drink, a cold shower before everyone figures out what I'm thinking about.
"We leave tonight, right after."   I turned my attention away from Howie and looked at Sarah to see her smiling at me.  Man, that smile was great, it made her eyes sparkle.  She came over to me and looped her arm around mine,
"I'm going to steal this guy away for a moment.  We'll be back."  She placed a hand on Howie's shoulder,
"Rebecca will make sure you have everything you need."  She winked at her friend.  Is she trying to hook Rebecca and Howie up?  We walked through the room, having to stop every few feet to smile, hug and speak with just about everyone along the way, she was a popular girl.  But I guess it's no surprise, this is her fundraiser.  An old lady with blue hair stopped us just as we were about to make our escape,
"Sarah darling.  You've done a beautiful job this year.  You even managed to outdo last year's gala."  You have got to be shitting me.  No one has blue hair, I thought that was like some kind of myth.  Sarah leaned down so she was at the same level and smiled,
"Thank you Mrs. Bazell.  Is there anything I can do for you?"  She is definitely a people person.  I can see her as a teacher or something.
"No thank you dear.  You know, you look more and more like your father every time I see you."  She smiled, with a hint of shyness and shook the old lady's hand as she thanked her before we left.  We made it into a smaller room just off to the side of the ballroom where a few people were located. I followed her as she sat on a couch in the corner and smiled when she smiled at me,
"So, is your father here?"  I'm really not up to meeting someone's father.  Especially the father of the girl I had on her back all last night.
"My father died when I was a little girl."  Damn, foot in mouth.  Did she tell me that and I forgot?
"I'm sorry."  She shook her head,
"It's ok.  I was young when it happened, I've had enough time to cope."  I didn't know what to say after that.  She placed her hand on my thigh,
"Really Nick.  It's ok, don't worry about it.  I want you to meet my grandmother."  She stood up and smiled at an older woman.  I stood up as she greeted her,
"Grandmother, how are you?"  She was a small woman and her skin was very dark, it must be where Sarah's tanned skin came from,
"I want you to meet Nick.  Nick this is my father's mother, Barbara."  I ran my hand down my pants quickly before shaking her small hand,
"Hi ma'am."  She nodded at me and looked over at Sarah,
"Is this the new one that has you smiling?"  What?  I mean, I'm all for making a girl think about me throughout the day, smiling and all that but it makes me a little uncomfortable to think she's talking about me to her family,
Nick is a friend."  She smiled at me and gave me a look that said her grandmother didn't know what she was talking about.

Howie and I were sitting at the same table along with a few people we didn't know eating something I couldn't recognize.  I leaned over to him,
"Hey, what is this?"  I poked at it and frowned,
"Nick, just try it.  You might like it."  Nope, I knew what that meant.  It was something disgusting and if he told me what it was beforehand he knew I wouldn't try it.  My mother did the same thing to me when I was a kid,
"Never mind.  I'll just get a burger afterwards."  If noting else I can fill up alcohol.  He shook his head,
"Why can't you just try something new?"  I shook my head,
"Because I like what I like and I don't like change."  He laughed,
"You sound like Popeye."  I shrugged and leaned back in my chair as I surveryed the room.  These people just weren't me, they weren't my type.  I'd rather have a beer and some buffalo wings while watching a football game not food I can't figure out while listening to an orchestra.  How did I let myself get talked into this thing?  Why couldn't I have put my foot down and said no?  Not only did I have to deal with AJ and Howie but the main reason was Brehan; when she wants something I'm pretty sure she always gets it.  I haven't seen much of her tonight.  I would see her and then it was if she would vanish into thin air.  She looks great tonight too.  She looked so beautiful, so different than any other time I've ever seen her.  She looked really high society and classy with that dress, the pearls and her hair done in those big curls.  She looked like an old time movie star with her makeup unusually subtle.  I looked around to see if I could spot her in the room but I wasn't having much luck.  Howie leaned into me,
"What are you doing?"  I continued to look around as I answered him,
"Looking for Brehan."  Since we said hello to her we hadn't been any where near each other, not even close,
"Ah, AJ told me about you two.  Congratulations I guess.  I'm not really surprised you guys are together but in a way I am."  I stopped my search for Brehan and turned to him,
"What do you mean?  Why are you surprised?"  We weren't together but I wanted to know why it would be so surprising to him if she and I were together,
"She's a supermodel."  Now I was beginning to get a little annoyed,
"Oh, so I can't date a supermodel?"  I don't know why I was irritated because even I didn't think dating a supermodel was normal behavior for me,
"Nick, I didn't mean anything by it.  It's just dating people in the business isn't something you've done lately."  I shook my head and stood up,
"Whatever."  What is it about me?  Why are people, even me, convinced that I am supposed to date some average girl?  Why was it totally unrealistic for me to date someone who was not just pretty but was gorgeous, who not just had a job but was a superstar at what she did?  I'm not so humble and down to Earth that I don't want a beautiful woman on my arm that makes me the envy of every man.  I saw Sarah with her friend Rebecca and I wanted to jump up and tell everyone that I had just had sex with this girl.
