| Chapter 8 The next morning we're all up early, later than the schedule dicatated though, and on our way to Orlando, the land of Mickey and boy bands, can't wait. I load onto the bus with Pete and a few of the other suits. Oh yeah, this is going to be very fun I can tell as I sit on the couch and look around. This is my first time on a bus and unfortunately I can't say my last, "Hey." I look up to see Jeff, "Hi, you riding this bus too?" He nods, "Yep but not today I need to go over some things with the boys. Hey, why don't you ride with me. I might need some PR input and it'll be easier than calling you on your cell all the time." I nodded, "Ok." He shrugged, "And if I don't need you, you can watch one of about a hundred DVDs that's on AJ's bus." I smile, "Never a boring moment huh?" He shook his head, "Nope and he'll probably buy another fifty while we're on the road." I follow him off the bus and board AJ's bus to see all five guys sitting around. We wave and say our hellos, I sit down next to Howie and smile, "Hey." He smiles and patted my thigh, "Hi." I look up and see Nick seemingly staring at Howie's hand on my leg and I watch him until he looks up and we lock eyes, he quickly looks away and begins to pay attention as Jeff begins to go over their schedule for the rest of the day. I snapped back to attention once I heard my name, "Priscilla are all the interviews and everything still on for today and tomorrow?" I nod as I look down at my schedules. One was of their whole day and the other was just of media appointments, "Yes, local TV, radio tomorrow morning, local small paper and the Orlando Sentinel." Brian sighed as he tossed a mini-football up in the air repeatedly and caught it, "Do we have a fan conference?" I nodded as Jeff answered, "Yep." He groaned quietly and I smiled, I feel the same way dude. AJ sighed, "I'm getting really bored with these things." Nick mumbled, "Nick, do you have a girlfriend?" Howie laughed, "Well, get a girlfriend." Nick nodded and rolled his eyes, "Then it'll be Nick, when are you going to break up with your girlfriend so you can date me?" They laughed and he couldn't help but smile as he shook his head from the aggravation of it all. He looked over at me and quickly looked away, his smile fading. What is it about me? The kid just doesn't like me. As soon as we arrived in Orlando, the guys needed to be on and went straight to their hotel for an interview with a local paper, the Orlando Weekly. We were an hour late, "I'm sorry, the trip wasn't quite as planned." There was need to tell him the guys just didn't want to get up that morning. The reporter nodded, "It's fine, one of your people called and let us know they were running late." That was Pete, but I still felt the need to apologize. Who knows one more apology could make the difference between an ok article and a bad one, I'm highly doubting there is a chance for a good one. He was young and he seemed like he would be more into punk rock than the Backstreet Boys so this should be interesting. The guys walked in the room and he sighed, "Might as well start this now." Yep, definitely interesting. During a short lunch break I decide to take the plunge and try and have a conversation with Nick, he is the only one that I haven't really talked to and it's bugging me. I sit down with him, Howie and AJ, "Hi guys." AJ smiled, "Priss, how ya doing? Have a seat." I nod and place my plate on the table, "Hi Nick." He nodded briefly and almost grunted, "Hey." Before he could get it out his attention was on something else, "What time are we going to be finished today J?" He shrugged and pointed at me, "I dunno. Man, you have someone in front of you who is paid to know our schedule and you're asking me?" He rolled his eyes and sighed, "Whatever." He stood up and Howie asked him where he was going, "To call my friends and tell them to come." I laugh and try to make a joke, "He doesn't care for me too much huh?" Howie shook his head, "It's not you, he's just a moody person in general. And lately he's had some family issues." I nod as he stands up, "I'm gonna go talk to him." I watch as he walks away and turn to see AJ shaking his head, "Is it really family problems or is it me? Did I do something to make him uncomfortable or mad?" AJ sighed, "Probably a little of both. He has a sister who is kind of out there and the family is kind of tired of her shit. And I saw him checking you out. He probably likes you. Nick is ass backwards, if he really likes someone he ignores them." I shake my head, "What?" He laughs, "He gets really nervous so he clams up." That night Pete printed out a new copy of the schedule, some things had changed for Atlanta, "I'll go give them to the guys." He shook his head, "That's not necessary, we can give them to them in the morning." I shook my head, "It's ok, besides I'm bored. I need something to do." I knocked on each of their doors and once I got to Nick's I took a deep breath before knocking. It's just something about someone not liking me that gets to me. Especially when its a guy, I've never had a guy not be interested in me before, or at least give me a look. Him being nervous around me because he likes me is better than him not liking me even if I can't do anything with him. When he opened the door I wanted to scream, "Hey, I didn't know you wore glasses?" He looked at me like I have a second head. I don't blame him it was a stupid comment, "Yeah, I wear glasses." We both stand there and he sighs, "Was there something you wanted?" Get yourself together girl, "Yeah, to give you your new schedule." I handed it to him and he frowned as he looked over it, "So, what are you up to?" He looked up, eyes wide and shook his head, "I, uh, nothing much. Just hanging with my friends." I nodded, "Ok, I'll let you get going. See you tomorrow." He didn't say anything and as I walked away he called, "Ok, see you too." I smile, he's not such a hardass after all.
