Chapter 5

By lunch time my cute little hair do was scrapped and I opted for a ponytail.  The day has been long and its no where near over, this is crazy.  This definitely wasn't like sitting in the office making official statements for clients and doing research.  I'm not complainig, I know it will get better and fun as I become more accustomed to feeling like my job will never be completed.  I look over at my watch to see it has been ten minutes since Brian and Nick has sat down with MuchMusic.  Once Brian finished answering a question I interrupted,
"Ok, that's all for today.  Brian, you're needed on stage, they want to work on your pack again."  He sighed,
"Didn't they fix that already."  I shrug,
"Something about an echo when you sing."  Nick stood up and removed his microphone and was about to walk off when I walked over to him,
"The reporter for the Miami Herald needs you now.  She's right over there."  He sighed heavily like a spoiled child,
"Where?"  I had to bite my tongue and count before I said something I would regret while standing in the unemployment line,
"Right over there near the stage."  He walked off without another word and I muttered under my breath,
"Punk."  No sooner had I finished insulting my employer Pete walks over,
"How are you doing?"  I sighed,
"Actually, it's not bad at all."  No need to whine to my supervisor that I feel like I'm awful at my job.  He nodded and looked over and saw Nick sitting with the reporter,
"Someone should always be in earshot of an interview.  You never know what some reporter my have up their sleeve."  I nod and walk over to the area where Nick and the cute reporter were occupying,
"So Nick, you have the reputation as being a ladies' man.  What do you like about the company of women, why do you love them so much?"  He shuffled in his chair and shrugged,
"They're just beautiful. The most beautiful thing in this world.  Who wouldn't want to be around women?  They're amazing."  She nodded and smiled seductively,
"So how important is sex in your life?"  He moved around in his chair, obviously a little uncomfortable and the fact that he is uncomfortable makes me a little happy and I sit back to enjoy the moment,
"Well uh-"  He looks over at me, for help I wonder, but he quickly looks back at the reporter and smiles,
"It's very important to me.  I would respect a girl's decision to not have sex but I would try to get my way, you know?  She nodded,
"So if a girl told you she wanted to wait until she was married to have sex what would you say?"  He laughed,
"I would tell her to call me when she was married."  The reporter's eyes stretched and she laughed,
"You're bad."  He smirked,
"I've been trying but they wouldn't let me, maybe I can be now."  I shook my head and smiled at him, when he looked in my direction his smile faded and he looked down at his hands before giving his attention back to the reporter.  The rest of the interview was standard questions about the album, the tour, NSYNC and respect from the imdustry.  How boring.

I walked into the dining room of the hotel and looked around, locking eyes with AJ as he waved me over.  He was sitting with Howie and Nick,
"Priss, what's up?"  He had been calling me that all day and it didn't bother me anymore,
"Nothing at all, just tired."  He laughed,
"Sweetheart, the tour hasn't even started yet."  Howie looked over at me,
"Have you ever been on a tour before?"  I shake my head,
"Nope, this is my first."  This amused AJ immensely,
"Your first tour is with us?  Man, we're not small potatoes darling.  They should have started you out small with Dreamstreet or O-Town."  I frown,
"Aren't O-Town just as big as you guys?  I mean, they're like the number three boyband right?"  AJ rolled his eyes,
"First, you're our PR person, is doesn't look good for you to call us a boyband.  So get that out of your vocabulary right now.  Besides Rok and Kevin would throw a hissy fit.  And they're is a big difference between one and three."  I nod,
"Ah ok, sorry."  A waiter came over and took my order as I handed the menu back to her I noticed the expression on Howie's face,
"What?"  He shook his head slightly,
"You're in this amazing hotel and you order meatloaf and mashed potatoes?"  I shrug,
"When in doubt, pick something you know.  I wasn't in the mood for anything fancy tonight."  The only time Nick spoke was when he was addressed by Howie or AJ, every now and then I would catch him looking at me but he would quickly divery his eyes when I would catch him.   AJ sighed,
"So today wasn't so bad.  What are we doing tomorrow?"  I looked up to see him looking at me,
"Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood and E! will all behere tomorrow for behind the scenes footage and very quick interviews.  They'll probably only get five minutes a piece with you guys."  Howie nodded,
"All my costumes still aren't finished being altered and the show is the day after tomorrow."  I didn't know what to say to that and I figured it was maybe talking to the other guys, I was public relations not stylist.  Nick stood up and Howie asked,
"Where are you going Nicky?"  Nicky?  You got to be kidding me,
"I'm going up to my room.  Tell them to send it up will ya?  Thanks D."  Before Howie could respond he was gone.  I look at AJ,
"Is he alright?"  He nodded,
"Yep, just your good old-fashioned girl problems."  I watch as Nick walked out of the room, his security in tow.  Where the hell did he come from?  Girl problems?  His only problem was that he didn't have enough time for all of them, I thought as I went back to talking to AJ and Howie.
