Chapter 4 cont

Seven o'clock and I was exhausted, it's only four o'clock in LA right now. Damn, this was going to suck.  Did they really work this early, what happened to parties and sleeping until noon?  I was meeting them all today, that thought woke me up quickly as I made my way to the shower.  Nothing peps a girl up like wanting to make a good first impression.  As I step in the shower I can't help but wonder what these guys are going to be like.  They always come off so damn perfect on TV.  They love their fans, they love their mothers and their pets.  I can't wait to see if they are really as good as they claim to be, no one is that damn near perfect.

Going down in the elevator by myself I look down at my suit, black coat, red shirt, black skirt and heels.  Not too stuffy but definitely not casual.  My skirt is long enough to be professional, barely, and short enough to demand attention.  I stepped through the doors and made my way to the conference room.  There were people milling around and I spotted Pete.  He waved me over and I smile as I make my way over to him.  Not bothering to look at anyone, as they wondered who I was, I loved being the new girl.  There was a certain amount of attention that was natural until people got to know you.

As we sat around the table, everyone was there.  Charles, the tour manager; Anthony, head security, Steve, the head of the stage crew; Jeff, from the guys' management team; Elaine, a JIVE label representative and Dean, the webmaster of their official website. Boy, these guys don't travel light, Puffy ain't got nothing on their entourage.  I wonder how many people were on this tour, dancers, band, crew, stylists, security there had to be like more than a hundred.  At some point each guy looked over at me and gave me a smile, all except Nick.  After the meeting Kevin introduced me to his fellow band members,
"Guys, I want you to meet Priscilla Maisonave, she's going to be working with Pete. This is Brian.  Brian and I are cousins."  I look over at Brian,
"Really?  Must be nice to have family near you all the time."  He nodded,
"Yes, it is."  A voice appeared from no where,
"But we're all like family."  I smile as I am introduced to Howie,
"That's nice that you guys have bonded."  AJ laughs,
"Bonded, fought, argued all that good shit."  Out of the corner of my eye I see Brian roll his eyes as Kevin introduces me to AJ,
"This is AJ."  He smiled as he looked me up and down, not shy at all I notice.  He has a lot of nerve, sorry kiddo not interested in the least,
"Prissy, that's what I'll call you.  Goes with the way you dress."  I nodded, ready to pounce but I won't start off on the wrong foot but he is on my list,
"And that's Nick over there."  Nick didn't bother to smile or wave he just 'allowed' me to be introduced to him before he got up and walked out.  Kevin shook his head slightly as Howie offered an explanation,
"He's not a morning person." I nod my head,
"That's ok, it's early for me too."  Brian smiled,
"Where are you from Priscilla?"  I smiled, the country accent was quite charming,
"Los Angeles born and raised."  He nodded as Kevin showed off his knowledge,
"She went to UCLA."  I look over at him,
"Do you have a file on me?"  He laughed,
"Well, its only fair since you have one on all of us."  I toss him a crooked smile,
"Well, you like to stay ahead of the game huh?"  He smiled,
"It never hurt."  It was Howie's turn,
"Have a big family?"  I shook my head,
"No, just my parents and my little brother."  I looked over at Kevin,
"Who started his freshman year at UCLA."  AJ looked surprised,
"Wow, not a stupid family."  I look over at him,
"There is no such thing as stupid.  At least not when it comes to IQ and things of that matter."  Brian frowned,
"What do you mean?"  I shrugged,
"It's all about what you've been exposed to.  If you haven't been exposed to something how can you possibly know anything about it.  And if you don't have the capacity to learn something that doesn't make you stupid either.  Well, the only kind of stupid is when people have common sense and don't use it."  Kevin nodded,
"Thats very interesting.  I totally agree with that."  I smile,
"Can't take credit, that little piece of philosophy is from my little brother...who barely got out of high school with a C average."  We stood around for another couple of minutes, with them asking me all sorts of questions before we had to get going for what was possibly going to be the longest day of my life thus far.  As I walked back up to my room I noticed besides Brian, who was under his wife's thumb according to the fans, Nick was the only one who wasn't overly friendly to me.  Interesting considering he was supposed to be the dog in heat of the group.  He probably had some hot little chick in his room that he was rushing back to.
