| Chapter 12 I was up for three hours after we arrived in Atlanta checking, double checking and rearranging all the scheduled media appointments and was sound asleep, unfortunately not a deep one, when the phone rang. I groaned and whined as I fumbled for it and finally answered weakly, "Hello?" I could hear music in the background, "Prissy, get your butt over to my room, 1107." I groaned, "Ok, I'll be over later." AJ has got to be kidding me? He probably went to sleep as soon as he got to his room, "No, no, no. Now." I told him I was on my way but I had no intentions of going over, I lay in bed and listened as the phone repeatedly rang. The guy never gave up, that was a quality I usually admired, but not at this moment. Once the phone rang again I picked it up and screamed, "AJ, no way, I'm not-" I was interrupted, "It's not AJ, it's Nick, he really wants you to come over. I'm in his room right now and I just wanted to let you know, he will call and bother you until you come over. I would just give in now if I were you." I sighed, "Ok, I'll be over. Tell him to give me ten minutes." I didn't care about not getting any sleep, knowing that Nick was there made me want to go. In fact, I was actually happy about going. Not that seeing AJ wasn't nice enough but I had spent the entire night with him. I knocked on the door and was greeted by Nick, "Man, I thought you were room service." I smiled, "Sorry to disappoint." He smiled and shook his head, "I'm not disappointed, it's cool." He stood to the side and I walked in to see the room was destroyed, "Doesn't take long for you to get settled." I called out to AJ who was sitting on the couch, "Nick's is worse. I guarantee it." I looked over at Nick with mock annoyance and he shrugged, "Hotels and buses are my home, have to feel comfortable. I can't live out of a suitcase, I need my stuff all around. Makes me feel a little normal." In a weird way, I think I understood exactly what he was saying. I flopped down on the couch next to AJ, "You know, I didn't get any sleep unlike yourself. I was working." He shook his head at me, "I haven't been to sleep either." I frowned, "Did you have something to do?" He smiled and shook his head as he flipped the TV, "Nope, just couldn't sleep." I looked over at Nick, "How about you?" He laughed and stretched his arms over his head, "Oh, I went to sleep as soon as we got our rooms, slept until about thirty or forty minutes ago." We got to the hotel a little after seven thirty that morning and it was now two o'clock in the afternoon, lucky bastard probably got about six hours of sleep on top of what he slept on the way here, no wonder he was looking all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, "Lucky you." He shrugged and smiled at me as he walked over and removed the remote from AJ's hand and found MTV2. AJ groaned, "Nick, I'm really not in the mood for some hard rock shit. Really." I watched and smiled as they argued about what they were and were not going to tolerate listening to. I couldn't help but keep my eyes on Nick the entire time, this was getting so silly, I had a crush on a kid. I shook it off and went over to the TV and changed the channel, stopping at a movie, "Boys, boys, let's watch this." They looked over at the TV and they both sat down, "The Matrix, cool." Nick exclaimed. He looked over at me and winked, "You got good taste Priscilla." I smiled, hearing him say my name was enough to make me endure this movie that I really had no interest in watching. Three hours, room service, The Matrix and another movie later AJ stood up, "I'll be back kiddies, the bathroom is calling." I nodded and leaned over, grabbing a strawberry from the table and dipped it in the whipped cream. I moaned a little at the taste, I loved strawberries and whipped cream. Nick chuckled, "You like that huh?" I blushed slightly and nodded, "Yeah." I wiped my hands with a napkin, looking away from Nick's stare. Out of the corner of my eye I saw him stand up and come towards me. He leaned down, his hand on the back of the couch, standing over me and leaned down. As his face came closer to mine, I held my breath and whispered, "What are you doing?" His hand came closer to my face and he ran his finger across my jawbone, "Nothing." His finger was at the corner of my mouth as he then sat down beside me and pointed his finger at me. I smiled as I saw the whipped cream he wiped off the corner of my mouth and picked up a napkin, "Oh, thanks. Guess I'm kind of messy today." He shook his head and stuck his finger in his mouth, sucking the whipped cream off, "Hmm good. No problem, I'm a mess when I eat all the time." He sat back and that was that, the end of our moment and my heart raced. It had such an affect on me and it was nothing at all, harmless, he was just being nice. AJ came out of the bathroom and I stood up, "About time, took long enough." He laughed, "Hey chick, that's my throne." I rolled my eyes as I began to close the door, "Yeah, well you better have let the seat down on that throne buddy." As I stood before the mirror in the bathroom I ran the quick events of what had just happened with Nick over in my mind. He could have just told me there was something on my mouth, or he could have done it alot less sensual than that. I mean, leaning over me like that, tracing my jawbone with his finger, and if I'm not mistaken he looked in my eyes. What does my eyes have to do with whipped cream on my face? I washed my hands and looked my face over once more to make sure there was nothing else on my face and walked back out. I looked around and only saw AJ sitting on the couch, "Where did Nick go?" He sighed as he placed his feet up on the table, "He had a phone call, someone he knows here in town." I nodded and sat down next to AJ dying to probe him with questions of Nick's friend. If I kept asking questions about Nick, AJ was sure to take notice and figure out that it was something more than just simple banter. Was it a guy, I hoped so. Was it a girl? If so, was she a friend or a really good friend. Come to think of it, was it possible for Nick to have a regular friendship with a girl? He didn't look like the type that could see a girl, that wasn't in his family of course, as something other than someone to screw. Something inside of me wanted to know all I could about this friend, but the other side told me didn't want to know and said to just let it go because if I found out something I didn't want to know, the jealousy would kill me. Well, at least my questions was answered, he wasn't trying me with the whipped cream thing. Chapter 13 Total Control Stories |
