Chapter 91

It was Monday morning and the guys had left the previous night, Nick and Craig didn't talk the rest of the weekend after their fight.  He and his friends spent Saturday afternoon with his family and Nick and the guys left for the airport earlier than they needed so Nick could hang out with the family until their plane departed.  They were on their way to the Today Show when Howie started talking to the MTV Diary camera about waking up early.  He lay his head back and closed his eyes, why did they have to do the early morning news show he would never know.  It was way too early and the interviews were the most boring ever.  He decided to imagine himself on an island with a bunch of bikini models and fell asleep with a smile on his face.

They were sitting in the green room when a piece of a bagel hit him in he face.  He looked around and saw AJ and Brian laughing in the corner.  He shook his head and brushed his sweater off as he gave them a disapproving look,
"Ooh, what's wrong with Nick?"  AJ laughed as he threw another piece of bagel at Nick who finally couldn't take it anymore and returned fire.  AJ threw a whole bagel at him and he began to tear off pieces and the battle started.  They were laughing, bread all over the floor when Kevin looked up from his newspaper,
"Nick, cut it out."  Nick shook his head slightly, stood up and threw another piece of the bagel at AJ before he walked over to the table and poured himself a glass of orange juice.  The camera followed as the cameraman asked him,
"Why do you think you were singled out by Kevin?  You don't look happy."  Nick shrugged, "It's nothing, I like to have a good time and Kevin likes to be serious, we're just different."  He looked over at Kevin, who was back to reading his newspaper and smiled slightly,
"But he's my big brother, I love him."  He gave the camera a big smile and pretended to wipe a tear from his eye as he walked off.  Always keep the game face, he learned that a long time ago, no matter how pissed off you were.

They sat on their stools as the correspondent came over and stood between Brian and Howie,
"That was wonderful you guys."  They smiled as they went to commercial.  Kevin looked over at Nick,
"That was not rehearsed."  Nick shrugged,
"I thought it would sound good, it didn't mess up the song."  Brian was playing with his earpiece, that was now in his hand, when he joined the conversation,
"It's still something we should have practiced before you did it on a live performance."  He sighed,
"We change it up at concerts all the time, it wasn't a major change."  Howie turned to face Nick and he could tell from the look on his face he wasn't going to be on his side,
"Concerts are different Nicky."  He sighed as he looked over at AJ, hoping at least one person would be on his side but all he got was a shrug of the shoulders then AJ looked off in another direction.  He sighed as they followed the stagehand to the couch and they got ready for the interview.
