| Chapter 90 cont Craig stood up and walked over to Nick, standing over him briefly before sitting down next to him, "Nick, nothing happened." He sighed as he began to flip the TV, "Yeah, you and her both said that; you got your story straight." Craig snatched the remote from Nick's hand and Nick turned to him quickly, looking as if he wanted to pounce him, "Grow up, just because the only thing YOU see women for is someone to fuck you or blow you doesn't mean we all do. Some of us can see a girl and our first thought isn't wanting to have sex with her." Nick shook his head, "You've NEVER thought of wanting to be with Shayna?" The slight hesitation was all Nick needed as he nodded his head and stood up, "I thought so." Craig had been his friend for a while. He completely trusted him, never once doubted his loyalty. He didn't need Nick's money, he came from money. His parents probably had more money than he did. Craig was different than the rest of his family though, they were definitely old money and they made Nick very uncomfortable. They weren't the type of people to associate with people who weren't the same as them but somehow Craig ended up different. "Nick, Shayna is a beautiful girl...woman." When Nick didn't say anything he continued, "But nothing happened between us that night." Nick walked over to his luggage on the bed, "THAT night." He stopped searching through his bag when his comment, which really was a sarcastic remark, was met with silence. He looked over at him and the expression on Craig's face caused his stomach to drop, "Craig, you guys hooked up before?" He watched Craig shake his head, but he wasn't answering his question as held his head down, "Damn man, I fucking trusted you." Before he knew it he had pulled Craig to his feet and his fist landed on Craig's jaw. They struggled and tripped over the edge of the coffee table and began to roll on the floor. Craig gave Nick's stomach a quick hit with his knee and Nick finally released him and grabbed his own stomach. Craig stood up, "Stop." he rubbed his jaw as he offered his hand to help Nick up. Nick ignored his attempt and sat on the couch as Craig paced back and forth with his hands in his pockets, "Nick, we didn't HOOK up. It was after you guys broke up and she was dating Bill, we just-" A sour laughter left Nick's throat as he ran his hand through his hair in an attempt to calm hismself from their brief fight, "I never knew she was a whore." One minute he was standing with his back to Craig, the next he was spun around and on the floor rubbing his jaw as he looked up at Craig, "What the fuck was that for?" Damn, he had to do promotion Monday, God he hoped that didn't leave a bruise, "Nick, you are such an ass. All we did was kiss, that's it. It didn't last long. She was just upset and confused and hurt. I'm not saying it's ok but it just happened and it ended quickly. I can't believe you said that about her." Nick just sat there and the longer Craig looked down at him the angrier he got, "You, of all people, have a lot of nerve calling someone a whore. You don't even know how many women you've slept with. She loved you, she still does. Through all the bullshit, your childish behavior, all the cheating you did; she still stayed." Craig walked out the door and Nick sat there on the floor as the tears began to form in his eyes. Home Full Circle Chapter 91 |
