Chapter 85

Nick and Sam made they're way through the gate and was met by his bodyguard Tim.  Tim was a change from some of the bodyguards he had in the past, he was a little more talkative than most.  He followed Nick and Sam to luggage pick up and found Nick's bag.  The car was waiting for them and they piled in and settled down,
"A limo?"  Tim smiled,
"They were running late with the SUV and I suggested a limo."  Nick smiled,
"You suggested?"  Tim laughed,
"A strongly suggested."
"So what all are we doing?"  Tim stretched out his legs,
"Anything you want until soundcheck tomorrow."  Jay Leno, he liked doing the show but he hated doing soundcheck; they were so anal about it.
"You want to go out?"  The thought entered his mind but he was still a little tired from the international trip,
"Nah."  Sam leaned over towards Nick,
"Yo, you talk to Craig yet?"  Nick sighed and shook his head as he looked through his backpack,
"Talk to him about what?  He's fucking my girlfriend."  He glanced over and caught Tim's eyes and realized he said that a little louder than he anticipated.  Tim ordered the driver to stop and got out; he climbed into the front seat and raised the partition.
He knew that some of his friends, even though they never screwed him over, were pretty much good for just having a good time and partying but not Craig.  He could go to him about anything, he always gave him good advice and he always, always had his back; that is until he started screwing around with Shayna,
"Man, I talked to Craig, he did not sleep with Shayna.  She was hanging out at his place, it got late and she slept over."  Nick looked up from his backpack,
"Why were they in bed together?  He has two bedrooms, I know, I slept in one."  Sam sighed as he watched Nick go back to plundering through his backpack,
"He said they were watching TV, she fell asleep then he went and slept in the other room."  Nick looked over at him as if asking did he really believe that,
"Dude, he would not do that; we're talking about Craig here.  Has he ever let you down?"  Nick pulled out his headphones,
"Guess this was his first."  Sam shook his head and watched as Nick got comfortable and looked out the window at the city passing them by.
They made it to the hotel and settled in their room, ordering room service for the night.  His cell phone rang and he answered without bothering to check the caller ID panel,
"Hello?"  He looked over at the TV to see what Sam was watching, he would kill him if he ordered a porno,
"Hi, it's Lexi."  His breath caught in his throat, he hadn't talked to her since a few days after he left her place that night the report about their fight came out,
"Oh hey what's up?"  What was it with him and girls?  It never worked out.  Shayna was as good as it got for him and then he became bored with the whole thing.  He cared about her but he didn't want to be in a relationship with her.  Nor did he want to be in one with Lexi, having someone to hold every now and then, to sleep with, to hold, to kiss was good enough and he usually didn't have a problem finding that.  Although he got turned down more than people would believe.
"Are you in LA yet?"  He frowned, how did she know he was coming to LA anyway,
"Yeah."  He never knew what to say to keep the conversation going when he didn't want to talk; he wasn't the one who called.  He simply answered the question and sat in silence, usually they got the idea and ended the call,
"Some friends and I are going out, why don't you come with us?"  Even if he hadn't decided to not go out already, he still wouldn't go.  It was nothing against her, he just didn't feel like it,
"I'm going to stay in.  We have soundcheck and a show to do, I need to relax."
"Oh, you're probably still tired from all the traveling."  He nodded and sighed,
"Yeah, my food is here.  I'm gonna eat and lay down, I'll talk to you later."
"Ok, call me tomorrow."  He nodded and rolled his eyes,
"Ok."  As he hung up he wondered why he bothered to say ok, he wasn't going to call her.  He looked over at Sam,
"How long did they say it would take for the food to get here?"
"About thirty-five minutes.  Hey, do you know MTV Diary starts taping you guys tomorrow?"  Nick groaned as he saw a piece of paper, no doubt his schedule, in Sam's hands,
"How long are they with us?"  Sam looked over the sheet,
"Like fifteen days, something like that."
