| Chapter 86 There was a knock at the door and Sam opened it to be greeted by Tim, "Hey Nick. Come on, you ready?" He shuffled to the door, his backpack slung across his shoulder as he ran his hand through his hair. He was tired, for whatever reason, and the last thing he wanted to do was put on a show for the cameras. They made it down to the restauraunt and he grabbed a plate and piled on the food sitting down next to Sam and Tim, away from everyone else, and began to eat. Tim looked over at the other guys, all sitting together and turned to Nick, "Why aren't you sitting with your friends?" Nick shrugged, "I am." He glanced over at the table and saw the them mugging for the camera, "I'm not in the mood for cameras, I'm tired." He was tired of a lot of things, one being smiling and playing up to the camera when he didn't feel it. Sam nodded his head lightly, "I guess that can get annoying." Someone, Nick had never seen before, walked in and announced they had ten minutes before they needed to head to the show for soundcheck. Ready or not it was time to be Nick Carter. They were sitting in the dressing room on a break from soundcheck when Sally came in, "Nick, you bad boy. There were so many things I didn't know about you." He looked over at her with a confused look on his face as he watched her wave a magazine around, "What are you talking about?" She smiled as she opened the magazine, "I got a copy of the Cosmo interview." A second passed before he began to laugh and covered his face; the interviewer was hot and they spent the majority of the time talking about sex after they ditched his PR person. The poor guy was going to be in trouble if she used half the stuff he said to her, "It's not that bad is it?" She laughed, "I'm thirty-one and I love Cosmo so I think it's great and so will the majority of your fans but the powers that be might think it tarnishes your angelic, boy next door image." AJ snorted, "He aint that damn innocent." Sally sat on the arm of the couch next to Nick, "Your favorite position is girl on top huh?" Giggles could be heard throughout the room, "And you've used handcuffs before?" He looked up to see Brian looking at him in shock and was about to say something but was cutt off by AJ, "Oh don't be shocked Rok, Nick had a pair on his bus last tour." Nick looked over at locked eyes with Brian, "Don't believe him that's not true." He looked over at AJ and frowned at him, shaking his head quickly and emphatically. "Nick!" Damn, busted. He turned to see Brian looking at him with his mouth wide open, "I don't believe you, I don't believe you admitted it in an interview." Brian smiled and shook his head at Nick. Nick knew why he did it, he had just been hanging out with his friends, who once again lectured him on doing what he wanted and not biting his tongue all the time. That, and watching Fred Durst on TV saying what he wanted inspired him to be honest. He knew they had young fans but as Colleen, the Cosmo interviewer said, he should be able to be himself and do some things that weren't for his young fans. It was true, he wasn't Barney, strictly for little kids, they had fans of all ages and just because he was a Backstreet Boy didn't mean everything he said or did was for little kids. Sally nudged him on the shoulder, "You think a woman doing a strip tease is hot. You are attracted to all types of women. The parts of a woman's body you like the most are the neck and the back." She stopped and looked over at Nick, "Very mature of you kid." She winked at him and he blushed slightly as she continued, "You've used whipped cream. You lost your virginity sooner than your mother thinks. Having sex with the possibility of getting caught is a turn on and you'd like to try it. You've never had sex in a car or on a plane. You've never had a menage trois. Sex is important to you and you like being single." He smiled as he thought about his numerous threesomes, some things just weren't for everyone to know. Everyone was laughing and having a good time when Kevin spoke up, "In an interview Nick?" He shook his head disapprovingly and Sally looked over at him, "You called him the chronic masturbator in Rolling Stone. Besides, it's Cosmo not Time." She and Kevin were the same age but she felt more in tune with Nick. Even if her job was PR she felt the strings were too tight on the guys, especially AJ and Nick. They were young and they weren't as uptight as the others and even though the guys said they weren't perfect and made mistakes like everyone else they, specifically Brian, Kevin and Howie, didn't act that way. They were always afraid of looking bad or less than professional in front of anyone. She understood the importance of having fun and truth be told, personally, she thought it was a mistake to handle them the way they were handled. They came off as stuffy and a little snobbish and she knew they weren't like that. She wasn't naive, she read Cosmo every month, she knew sex was bound to come up and she thought it would be fun to have Nick interviewed; she would have to work on getting AJ interviewed next, the others would be a waste of time, "Its concluded with the following: Get him while he's hot ladies. Although he is a sweetheart, there is a little bit of an bad boy that doesn't want to be tamed. So if it's fun you want, it's fun you'll get with this babe." She held the magazine down so he could see the pictures. There was one of him in a pair of handcuffs lying sideways on a couch and the other notable picture was of him and the Cosmo reporter. AJ leaned over and snatched the magazine from Sally, "Damn, that's the writer? No wonder you were talking about sex; she is gorgeous." A stagehand from the Leno Show came in and announced, "Ok, we're ready for you guys if you are." They stood up and headed back out to the stage; for whatever reason Nick felt good about the article, he felt different, free and wondered how well it would go over. If speaking his mind made him feel this good, this alive, he was going to have to do more of it. Home Full Circle Chapter 87 |
