| Chapter 79 cont. As they exited the limo, Chloe first, the flashes were blinding it was definitely something he was used to and the demands and questions as well. They slowly walked the carpet, stopping briefly along the way to pose for pictures, "Chloe...Nick, over here." "How long have you been dating?" "What are you doing here with Nick Carter?" "Hey Nick, any comment about the tape of you fighting?" "Does this mean you and your girlfriend are over?" "Did you dump your girlfriend for Chloe?" They were led to a reporter representing Entertainment Tonight, "Chloe, you look wonderful. What does this movie mean to you?" Nick's mind wandered as he began to regret coming to such a public event with such a famous person. His mind snapped back to attnetion when he heard his name, "...with Nick tonight?" She smiled as she placed her arm around his waist and gave him a little hug as she looked up at him briefly, "Nick is singing a song for an upcoming movie I'm doing. It's a very good song, I have it on CD in my car. We met because of that and we're just hanging out tonight having fun." Nick smiled as the reporter addressed him, "So Nick, is this your first big time movie premiere?" Nick nodded, "Yeah, it is. I've never been through anything like this. All the people, the lights and everything. It's cool and she's one of my favorite actresses." Her PR person pulled them along and they did interviews with E!, Access Hollywood and MTV. As they walked into the theater she leaned over and whispered, "They are typing their gossip columns now." He was in his room, sitting on the balcony with a beer when there was a knock on the door. He walked over and opened it to see Choe standing before him in a tiny T-shirt, her midriff bare, short denim skirt, silver bangles on her wrist, "Hey you, can't believe you're not out painting the town." He smiled as, he liked when she greeted him with hey you, it was so casual and cute, "Nah, a little tired." He stood to the side and she walked through, "Have a seat." She sat on the couch and smiled, "You going out tonight?" She shook her head, "Nope, I just came back from dinner a couple of blocks away. I didn't have a number for you or the hotel so I decided to just come over. Hope I didn't interrupt." "No, just me by myself. You want something to drink?" She ran her hand over her stomach, "No, just had dinner remember." He nodded his head, feeling silly because she had just told him that, "Oh yeah, that's right. Sorry." His eyes ran over her legs and her bare stomach and she looked beautiful, like she wasn't even trying. Her smile disappearing slightly as he leaned forward. His attempt to kiss her failed when she turned her head slightly, "Nick-" He pulled back and his face was that of a little boy being told he couldn't get a cookie, "Sorry." Rejection, that was why he never tried, why he preferred the girl to be aggressive, why he didn't try to date supermodels and actresses, they were out of his league, they were gorgeous, regular girls were more his speed, "It's nothing against you." He nodded and looked at his hands in his lap, "Nick, really it's not. I mean, we just met. Besides, I like older men." She stood up, leaned over him and kissed him on the forehead, "If you were thirty-five, I wouldn't be able to keep my hands off you." She winked and he smiled as she pulled him to his feet, "I just came by to say thank you again and to have a safe trip back to Florida." He nodded as she took out a pen from her bag and wrote on a magazine on the coffee table, "Here, here's my number. Give me a call the next time you're in LA. We'll get together and hang out." He nodded and smiled as sincere as he could, "Thanks, I had fun. I'd love to hang out with you." He walked her to the door and flopped on the couch, turning on the TV to watch some videos on MTV.
