She was about to go into the bathroom and take a shower when he called out,
�Where you going?� She turned to him,
�Take a shower.� He shook his head,
�You should probably wait to do that.� He patted the bed and she joined him under the sheets. He pulled her into him and she smiled at the feeling of his arms wrapped around her his fingers stroking her arm. He cleared his throat and she knew something was coming,
�Shayna what do you want to do?� She traced her finger over his chest and sighed,
�I don�t know, watch TV?� He smiled,
�I meant about us.� She knew what he was talking about but she hoped playing dumb would change the subject,
�I don�t know that either Nick.� He shook his head and separated himself from her,
�That�s not good enough.� Her stomach dropped at his words,
�What? What do you want?� He ran his hands through his hair,
�One question at a time ok? What do YOU want Shayna. You always give me a hard time and try to figure out what�s in my head; why don�t you tell me what�s in yours or do you even know. You�re probably just as confused as I am.� She sat up and pulled her knees to her chest,
�Yeah, I am confused. I know I love you and I know I miss you all the time.� He sat up and leaned against the headboard,
�Let�s play yes or no for a little while. Are you willing to leave him and come back to me?� She shook her head and twirled her hair around her fingers,
�Wow, you come out swinging hard.� He raised his eyebrows,
�What's the point in playing around? We know the deal it�s him or me.� She sighed,
�Its not that easy.� He gave her no sympathy,
�Actually it is Shayna.� She frowned,
�Ok, what about you? What's up with you and Lexi?� Her pronunciation of her name didn't go unnoticed,
�She didn't do anything to you.� She held her head down,
�I know, I�m sorry.� All she knew was that what she didn't have with Nick she had with Bill and vice versa and that Lexi made her extremely jealous. Her eyes began to water and she turned to him,
�I don�t know Nick, I really don�t. I love you, I never stopped but I love Bill too.� Anger flashed in his eyes,
�Wait a minute you LOVE him? After a few months he means just as much to you as I do? We spent over two years together and it no longer means enough to�forget it Shayna, really just forget it.� The tears fell down her face and he turned on the TV and didn't look at her. She didn't know what to do. Part of her wanted to run out of there as fast as she could but she couldn�t move. Her thoughts were interrupted as he turned to her,
�I don�t understand you. You love him?� She sighed as she wiped her tears,
�Lets not talk about him ok?� He snorted,
�He is apart of this and why are you crying?� She frowned,
�Why are you being an ass? I�m upset ok?� He rolled his eyes,
�Shay, I love you; you love me. You�re with Bill; I�m with Lexi.� She shook her head and closed her eyes,
�Wait, wait, you�re WITH Lexi? Since when?� He looked at the TV and didn't say anything,
�Since when Nick?�
�Since she came here, we decided to try and see where it goes.� She turned her whole body towards him,
�And you�re sitting here giving me a hard time? Why did you sleep with me?� He laughed snidely,
�Don�t EVEN go there. You started that, not me�don�t try and make it seem like I talked you into it or something.� She took a deep breath and exhaled slowly,
�I see it this way. We both need to figure out who want to be with�and not just so we can be together. We�re both with other people and we shouldn�t break up with Lexi and Bill just to get back together. If we do break up it should be because that�s what we wanted for reasons other than each other. Did that make sense?� He nodded his head,
�Yeah, we either stay or leave but make the decision for ourselves not for each other.� She nodded and leaned back on the headboard,
�How did we get here?� He rubbed his eyes,
�I don�t know. So what did you tell him you were doing tonight?� His question reminded her that she had lied once again,
�I told him I was going out with some friends.� He nodded,
�What time is he expecting you to be home?�
�I told him I would be out very late�girls� night.� She slid down the headboard and covered her eyes with her arm and lay flat in the bed,
�So are we really going to make it this simple and just figure out what we want and stick with it?� He laughed slightly,
�I doubt it.� As his hand slid down her body and began to rub her as he kissed on her neck.
