He was sitting at home, alone for a change, when he picked up his cell phone to check his messages. After going through all the hang-ups and people he didn't know he was a little shocked when he heard Lexi�s voice.
�Hi Nick, it�s Lexi�from LA. I know it�s been a while but I just wanted to say hi and see how you were doing. Maybe if you�re back in LA we could get together�bye.�
He smiled at the sound of her voice she was a cool girl. He went upstairs and looked on his schedule, they were all due in New York in a couple days to record but they would be done Saturday. He pulled out his cell phone,
�Hello?� He smiled,
�Hi Lexi�its Nick�Carter.�
�Hi, how are you?� He smiled for the first time in a long time it seemed,
�I�m fine�sorry I haven�t been in touch�how are you?� He wasn�t sure why she called after all this time but he was glad she did,
�It�s ok, I�m fine.� He nodded is head,
�So, I have to be in New York but I�ll be back in town Saturday night. Why don�t you come spend the week with me next week.� There was silence and he regretted asking her. The last thing he needed was more rejection,
�If�if you don�t want to I understand.� He held his breath waiting for her response. He always felt vulnerable putting himself out there and asking girls out,
�No, I want to�I was just thinking about work and the ticket and stuff.� He breathed a sigh of relief,
�I�ll fly you out and you can stay with me. Can you stay all week and go back Sunday?�
�Yeah, I just need to tell my boss tomorrow but its no big deal.� He smiled,
�Ok, I�ll fly you out Sunday night. I�ll get your ticket tomorrow and let you know the time and stuff.�
�Ok, thanks�I can�t wait to see you again�I�m glad you called.� He laughed,
�I�m glad you called, can�t wait to see you. I�ll talk to you tomorrow.�
�Bye.� He smiled and looked up at the ceiling,
�Bye.� He still missed Shayna and he wanted her back but he was lonely and Lexi was cool; and she was someone he had been with so he was comfortable with her. He lay back and thought about how he was going to get Shayna back.
