welcome to Gopec. If we wish to have better place to live than we need to change our behavior towards health and environment for a better future. We only can change this world with the help of children, because children are our future. If todays elders are ignorant in developing countries the cause date back to their childhood when no one try to mould their minds. Thats why the main field of working of this NGO is school going children. The Global Organization for Population and Environmental Control (GOPEC) was created in order to address these problems and to develop awareness on gross root level for better health and clean environment.
Object: - To focus on the specific health and clean environmental needs of a community and then develop awareness on gross root level in order to prevent from the basic health problems of developing countries. - To co-operate and colaborate with International NGOs for their international efforts in health, environment and education development. - To generate funds, for awareness development on gross root level, in colaboration with International NGOs and doner agencies.
Grade-Program. As a first step Gopec conducted a survey out of Pakistan among the common masses to check the degree of awareness. We needed to find out what situation we had on our hands and what sort of plan of action we should come up with. In order to design a strategy we needed all the data that could be collected. Do to so questionnaires were prepared.
So, the data collected individually out of all four capital cities of Pakistan. Questioner forms were designed just for three categories according to their mental level . One for uneducated people men/women , uneducated people men/women and children boys/girls . The questionnaire had questions through which it became easy to know about the level of awareness about environmental pollution. Pakistan is a poor and heavily populated country Population below poverty line 34% Inflation rate (consumer prices) 6% Unemployment rate 7% where GDP - real growth rate 3.1% (1999 est.) GDP - composition by sector agriculture:25.2% industry:26.6% services:48.2%, Labor force 38.6 million. Labor force - by occupation agriculture 44%, industry 17%, services 39% (1999 est.)
Pakistan consist of 4 provinces i.e Sind, Punjab, NWFP and Baluchistan; so we collected the data-survey from all four capital cities out of each provinces. we established 4-Teams for each capital city. Firstly we conducted the survey according to the population strength; and secondly we categoriesed the population into three category 1- Educated men/women. 2- Uneducated men/women. 3- Children boys/girls.
Start a trend in the masses to stop pollution & accentuate plantation.
1. Keeping in mind what Gopec is planning to do for future, we can draw some conclusion and make a rough sketch of what sort of outcomes and results we are expecting.
2. After carrying out this plan for that long a period, we hope to create a degree of awareness among the general masses and make them feel responsible for their home planet.
3. We believe that these plans when carried out as we have planned will bring about a change in the thinking of the people. For the time being we are expecting the educated group of people to become more responsive to this cause and respond in a positive manner.
4. According to our estimations and the analysis of the situation we believe that people will start realizing the danger our planet is in. Planting trees will become common and anti-pollution campaigns will become more wide spread. People will start seeing what they are ignorant of right now and will take action. The deteriorating condition of the existing parks and greenbelts is expected to improve. New nurseries and plant shops will be started and a wide increase in purchase of plants is expected. 5. Apart from the improvement in plantation concept in the public, a degree of pollution awareness is also expected. It is hoped that people will respond more actively where there is a problem of pollution control like busted silencers of vehicles, fumes coming out from factories, dirty beaches and unhygienic eating and living conditions.
6. It is expected to see a better understanding of the problems related to pollution and how they can be controlled. We expect to bring about a change in the habits of people and make them throw their garbage in proper garbage bags and not on streets and roads. Make them realize that using plastic bags in harmful for them and make them replace it with paper bags. Make them value recycling and embed the concept in their minds. We are hopeful to see dumpsters in every corner of streets and expect them to be used properly.
7. Over all we are hopeful to see a grand change in the behavior of people towards environmental issues and expect a positive and encouraging response from the masses.
Before going to analyze the gross route level importance of the program - we need to know the basic problems of under-developing countries like Pakistan. |
