| Quiet Time Copyright Alice E. Steimle - 2003 |
| Guess I need some quiet time by myself Perhaps I'll grab a book from my Memory Library shelf When I was living in New Jersey at the shore I'd listen to waves, and couldn't ask for more Now I live in the moutains, far from my precious family Do they know how much I miss them; do they think of me I pray for their safety, and for God to keep them safe again Now I listen to nature's sound, and think when will it begin Y'all know my "Mama Phyl", a dear lady I found I pray God watches over her to keep her feet on solid ground Just the other day, she said, "Sweetie, you need to slow down" I know that God speaks to her; she wears a God's jeweled crown Y'all know of my health, yet I haven't said a word Remember God hears your prayer, and you're always heard Now I'm taking sweet Mama's Phyl's advice She's one special lady to me; she's so sweet and nice So just give me a minute, or perhaps a little while I'll be back again soon, and promise to bring a smile I'm following Doc's orders now, I'm back to taking pills (yuck!) Know I'm here reading e-mails, and doing God's wills I go once again to the mountain for some quiet time That's where I sit a while in peace and clear my mind I sit once more and listen, watch the clouds roll by At times I wish that I was a bird, cause I'd join them in the sky |
