Science News - Solar Electricity
On Superbowl Sunday I went for a fun hike in the snow with my mom and some of the Webelos scouts. We followed the trail markers on the trees since we couldn't see the trail with the snow. We looked for animal tracks in the snow. We saw some deer tracks and a lot of rabbit tracks. We also learned how to tell if you're getting frostbite and how to treat it.
The next Sunday was the Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquet. The theme was "Fiesta" so we had Mexican food, mariachi music, and pinatas. At church that day I was awarded the Parvuli Dei Religious Award. At the banquet I took part in the advancement ceremony because I earned my Webelos Badge. My den worked so hard that we all earned the Compass Emblem, Traveler Badge, and Scholar Badge. All the scouts saw a slide show about summer camp which made us all want to go!
This month I also started volleyball, basketball, and I went back to swimming. In volleyball and basketball I've been put on the yellow team in both sports. Since I played with the yellow team in soccer last summer that means I now have 3 bright yellow shirts. Wow!
On Valentine's Day my family and I went to a dairy farm. We saw a llama, a goat, some sheep, a pig and lots of cows! We saw some cows getting milked by machines. It was really cool.
In school I've been learning a lot. In science I'm learning about electricity and light. In social studies I'm learning about the Midwest Region. In math I'm learning about probability and how to change fractions and decimals into percentages.Of course I am continuing to practice French and read interesting books. Next month I hope to have a new Art Page up so that you can see some of the things I've been working on.

Camp Fire USA
Gabrielle's birthday was lots of fun. She turned 4 and our grandparents came over for her birthday and her party. Gabrielle had a jungle party and got to have some friends come over. They decorated safari hats, made binoculars and wild animal masks. On her birthday we gave her a huge fishtank. She has been wanting a pet of her own. We went to the store and she chose two Shabunkins which are like fancy striped and spotted goldfish. She named the striped one, "Tigery" and the spotted one, "Spotty Spot."
