Book Review
Jared's Island

    Shipwrecks, adventures, and buried treasure! If you like all those then this is the book for you. The story tells about Jared, a young boy who was sailing on his brother's ship to the new world when a storm hit! They were separated in a shipwreck during the storm! Only Jared was found by Abner, a Quaker man living on the coast of New Jersey.
     Abner and his wife let Jared live with them. While Jared is out working he's always thinking about the islands around him and he wonders if the treasure his shipmates talked about is buried there somewhere. He gets tired of doing so much work for Abner's wife and so one day he runs away. He sets out on a quest to find the treasure.Will he survive the wilderness or will he fail? One Year Wish

Today I found a wish
It was hidden under a tree
It was smooth and bumpy
It looked like a star

I tried to throw it, it
dropped like a rock
but it held the answer
to my dreams

It felt warm and cold
blended into one
as I carried it along I
felt as light as a feather
and as heavy as a stone.

Today is the day I found
my wish. Now I know
my wish is a year.
Monthly Math Challenge
  I got 2 pounds of candy on Halloween night! I eat 1/4 of a pound each week for three weeks in a row. On the fourth week I take a rest and don't eat any candy! How many weeks until I eat all the candy?
