Science - The Heart |
This month I studied the Circulatory system that includes the heart, blood and blood vessels. Here are some facts about your heart, which is a very important organ. |
*The Heart is a big muscle that works without you having to think about it.
*The heart has four chambers.
*When blood has oxygen it is colored red and it delivers the oxygen to your body by going through the arteries.
*Blood with carbon dioxide is blue and goes to your heart in your veins.
*The left chambers of your heart pump blood from your body (with carbon dioxide) to your lungs to pick up oxygen.
*The two right chambers pump the blood with oxygen from the lungs to all parts of your body. |

Right Side- The top purple part is called the Atrium. That's where the blood enters from the lungs with oxygen. The bottom pink part is called the Ventricle. It pushes blood into the main artery where it gets carried all around the body. |

Left Side- The top purple part is called the Atrium. That's where the blood enters from the body with carbon dioxide. The bottom pink part is called the Ventricle. It pushes blood into the lungs to pick up oxygen. |

Can you place three sets of parentheses in this number sentence to make it true? There are at least two different solutions. Can you find them both? The answer will be in next month's web page.
7 + 5 x 7 / 7 - 1 + 3 = 10 |

Answer to October Math Challenge:
There were two ways that people answered this. If I took a rest on the fourth week ONLY then it would take 9 weeks to eat the candy.
If you figured that I took a rest EVERY fourth week, then it would take 10 weeks to eat the candy. |
