FACTS: PALAVER
"Palaver" is an archaic word found in the lyrics of one of Les Mis' songs. But what does it mean?
Palaver (n.):
     1. a conference, especially among or with African tribes
     2. a talk, especially a profuse or idle talk
     3. flattery, cajolery

Palaver (v.):
     1. to talk glibly or flatteringly
     2. to flatter

In Les Miserables:
     Clasquesous (
Attack on Rue Plumet): "What a palaver, what an absolute treat / To watch a cat and its father pick a bone in the street."
referring to Eponine arguing with Thenardier about whether or not he should rob Valjean's house.
