A brief description of each character and a few key facts about them.
EPONINE THENARDIER
1815 - 1832

Description:
"It was a pale, puny, meager creature... A string for a belt, bony shoulder protruding from [her] blouse, a lymphatic pallor, the eyes dull... The grace of her youth was still struggling against the hideous old age brought on by debauchery and poverty. A remnant of beauty was dying out on this face of sixteen, like the pale sun extinguished by terrible clouds at the dawn of a winter's day."

Bio:
She was born in the Sergeant of Waterloo Tavern, run by her parents. When her father's business failed, the family moved to the Gorbeau House in Paris. She fell in love with the boy next door, Marius Pontmercy. But he had already fallen in love with Cosette, and just wanting him to be happy, she brought him to her. But jealousy prompted her to advise Valjean to leave the Rue Plumet, and intercepted Cosette's letter telling Marius where they were going. When the barricades went up, she summoned Marius in his friends' names, hoping for him to die. But when she saw a National Guardsman pointing his gun at Marius, she jumped in front of bullet, and was fatally wounded. Dying, she gave Marius the letter telling him where Cosette was.

Quotes:

"His world is full of happiness that I have never known!"
"In the rain, the pavement shines like silver; all the lights are misty in the river."
"He was never mine to lose; why regret what could not be?"
"I don't feel any pain. A little fall of rain can hardly hurt me now."
