Golden Dawn: The New Adept
Chap 1
*Sylfaen lied down on the cool morning grass covered with dew. She sighed softly as she gazed at the morning sky. Suddenly, "Coo-ee!" a warning cry rose from the trees and filled the woods as the birds scattered from their resting place. "Coo-ee!" She pressed her ear to the ground. Sure enough,she could hear footsteps approaching. She lifted her head and listened for voices. Eight voices. She climbed the tree expertly, and disappeared in the shadows of the leaves.

The two parties of Isaac and Felix were walking through the forest towards Contigo, laughing and talking together. After lighting Jupiter Lighthouse, Isaac and his friends had been told the reason why Felix was lighting the Lighthouses, and had joined their quest. As usual, most of the laughter and talking were coming from the girls of the two parties. The boys had been wary of each other at first, but by now had become, friends, or at the least,were not throwing sacarstic remarks at each other. Garet and Isaac were talking with Piers, and exchanging stories of their adventures. Ivan was having a deeper talk with Felix, who was quizzing him on the in-depth things in life.

**"Who are you? What are you doing in these forests?" asked Sylfaen from the shadows of the trees. The people below looked at each other,puzzled. "Who said that?" asked a red-haired girl."What did it mean?" Sylfaen realised that they only spoke English. "I said, 'Who are you? And what are you doing in these forests?' What is your answer?" repeated Sylfaen.

"Oh.. That's what you said. I'm Ga-" started Garet. He was stopped by Felix,who had clamped a hand over his mouth.
"Who are you?!" Felix asked. "Show yourself!"
Sylfaen used Mind Read on the eight of them. They are safe, she thought to herself. She jumped down from the tree and landed gracefully in front of them.
"My name, is Sylfaen,"she introduced herself. Everyone stared at her. She had tanned skin, a beautiful complexion, curly auburn hair and deep,soulful eyes. What more could anyone ask for? She was wearing brown leather, sgnifying she was an archer. On her back rested a quiver of arrows and in her hand she held a bow,looking a lot like Atlanta,goddess of hunting.

"I am -"Garet started again. "Garet,"Sylfaen finished. They looked at her in amazement. She pointed at each of them and recited their names. "And you are Isaac, Piers, Jenna, Sheba, Mia, Ivan and Felix." "How did you know that?!" asked Jenna. "Well, you could ask Sheba or Ivan to Mind Read me," smiled Sylfaen. "Sheba, do it,quick!" pestered Jenna. "Ok... Mind Read!" Sheba scrunched her nose in concentration. After a moment, Sheba's eyes fluttered open, wide in shock.
