ABOUT US....
The year was 1975, I had always had horses in my life, dreamed and breathed horses. I actually bred my first foals at 12 years of age.
Sadly in 1975 my beautiful show/ridin horse was killed in a road accident. We were devastated. Shortly afterwards there was a horse auction in Hawera. We went to just "have a look" and see what was there, and yes we came home with a registered Anglo-Arab mare, Claudette, infoal to a Partbred stallion.
That was it I was hooked on the Arabian Horse.

We purchased a few unregistered part arab mares. Soon we purchased the darling mare, Chelsea Rain who was 15/16 Arabian 1/16 Welsh. She was infoal to Ibn Grojec. The following year we purchased the Purebred mare Kalifa she too was infola to Ibn Grojec.
A tough start to breeding as we lost both of these mares foals soon after foaling and I had wondered what I had let myself in for!
but from tough beginnings the stud flourished.

Firstly I had a Partbred stallion G.S Shamron who was out of Claudette and by Sea Breeze Cherrie(imp). Then in 1979 a gorgeous colt was born (bred by Keith McKay who sadly died at such a young age - thankyou Keith for giving me inspiration), and his name was Marama Sayf Samira by Hiland Cheif and out of Bint Nassaba, this lovely colt had three crosses to Skowrenek. He was and still is at 25years young a wonderful sire, always breeding athletic youngsters with fantastic bone.

We have always excentuated the fact of breeding good type and substance and horses that will go on and be good undersaddle.
We the purchased a lovely colt, Araleigh Azarda who is by Gai Cadet (impUSA) who is amazing and an asset to the breeding of the Arabians inNZ.

In 1996 we decided to look for a stallion that would compliment_the mares we had with mre height and type and to infuse into the stud new bloodlines. So, on phoning Sue Soratt, she mentioned to me a young colt she had just seen at the Nationals in Christchurch who she thought was stunning.
After thinking about what she had said about this youngster, the temptation was too great, so I phoned the owners, Noel and Gaynor Evans, his name is Willowvale Sa'arfari........
