The Guardians of Light Royal Hierarchy A list of titles and positions existing and available to fellow GoL clansmen.
King (Chieftan) and Queen (Cheiftess) The title of Chieftan and Cheiftess (which is a made-up word, by the way... there is no feminine form for chieftan, I believe... but here we will refer to it as though it were a real word in the English dictionary) are given to AphexTwin and Kyreisla, the founders of this clan. They are not married, though (in case you were wondering...lol). Being a cheiftan requires much responsibility, honor and intelligence. To sit in the royal throne is to sit beneath all subjects. The King and Queen are expected to serve their subjects, as they expect their subjects to do the same for them. They quell riots/fights and uprisings. They keep the peace between clansmen and have the power to exile or expell any trouble-makers from the clan. The position of King and Queen are forever taken and thus will not be available to other clansmen.
Royal (High) Council The jobs of the Royal Council include advising the King and Queen on many matters and helping in certain situations. It is also the job of members of the Royal Council to report any uprisings or trouble-makers. Members of the High Council have some power, limited to appointing new clan members and promoting clansemen upon the consent and approval of the King and Queen. This position must be earned and can only be appointed by His and Her Royal Majesty. (You must also be at least level 55 or higher). There can be numerous members of the Coucil.
High Druid/Druidess and High Priest/Priestess The High Druid/Druidess and Priest/Priestess both coexist and work together to keep the religious order. They have the power to appoint all religious postitions to existing clansmen without the consent of the King and Queen. Examples of religious sub-positions would be a bishop, preist, monk, nun, etc. (To be the High Druid/Druidess or Priest/Priestess, you must be at least level 50). The religious hierarchy, from the High Druid/Priest and below, is in no way above the King or Queen. God, of course is above everyone, including the King and Queen. AphexTwin and Kyreisla appoint the High Preist and Druid.
Knights/Paladins Next to the Grand Knights and Grand Paladins, Knights and Paladins are the most coveted of all the protectors of the clan. They are bonded together and serve all mankind, like the king and queen do. Bound by the ways of chivalry, they are especially kindly and protective towards women. They follow the Knight's Code of Honor 'till no end and will sacrifice their lives without a thought for their friends (not that you'd be required to do that of course, because it's not like we'll ever really meet, but you get the idea about how they are). Knights must be at least level 40 and have to be squires first before they can make knighthood (if you are already above level 40, you must be a squire for at least 5 more levels), also, to apply for knighthood/squirehood, please consult one of the Lords or Ladies. Each Knight should have a squire to "train," and is responsible for choosing his own student. You must make sure that they are trustworthy first, of course. Knights and Paladins can promote their squires to knights after they have seen that they have "trained" long enough and have been a part of the clan long enough. They should of course notify their Queen that they are giving the promotion, because she likes to keep records of who and what everyone is.
Grand Knights/ Grand Paladins These are the GoL "Knights Of The Round Table" so to speak. They are a fellowship of 12-- 6 paladins and 6 knights. They are the truest friends of the King and Queen, and are the supreme upholders of the chivalric and knightly code. They nightly dine and drink merrily with Aphex Twin and Kyreisla. Together, they form a fellowship like no other (actually, it's like that of the bond between all clansmen--well, maybe even better--especially since they are all "buddy-buddy" with the king and queen). They, by far are the most coveted of all the protectors of the clan. They uphold the weak and protect the innocent. They express a courage, valor and nobility like no other. Grand Knights and Grand Paladins do not have squires and can only be appointed by His and Her Majesty (given that the appointed is above level 60). Remeber there's space for only 12!
Squires These are the students of the noble knights. Usually they are new to GoL and are relatively lower in level (sometimes an old GoL member with a new character wanting to work their way up to knighthood). Squires must be at least level 20 for old members with new characters and level 35 for brand new members. Existing knights and paladins are responsible for picking/training their squires, keeping in mind that their pupils must have a level of 35 or greater.
Note: These ranks are just titles and don't really mean anything, especially in reality. They are more like just for fun.
Lords/Ladies The lords and ladies are the aristocrats in the GoL realm. Rich in wealth and health, they bask in their fine houses on their fine pieces of land personally given by the King and Queen. They have the most excellent manners and are of obvious high class. They are in charge of appointing squires (as are the existing knights) and promoting them to knights. Any lord or lady must be at least level 45 and must be appointed by the chieftans.
Royal Guard Memebers of the royal guard are those who stand their ground and/or patrol the castle and protect its inhabitants from harm. They also keep the villagers safe. Members of the Royal Guard must be at least level 33 and can appoint themselves a part of the group--just let the Queen know so that she can make a record of who is on the Royal Guard (you do want to be listed and take credit for your accomplishments don't you?!!).
Royal Army/Troops (not that we'd ever wage war...lol, but hey! It's fun) There Royal Army has its own hierarchy. There are admirals, generals, horse-calvalry, footmen and archers. I assume you all know what they do. To be an admiral you should be level 35 and for a general, level 34, and to be on the mounted calvalry, 33. All others: at least level 31. You can go ahead and appoint yourself any rank from the level 31 and up section, but you must tell Queenie so she can keep accurate documentation.
Royal Gardeners The royal gardeners are one with and at peace with nature. They play a very important role of keeping the courtyard and other parts of the castle beautiful as ever. You can be a royal gardner at level 32, just ask to apply to be one.

Royal Servants The royal servants are important in that they facilitate the jobs and lives of those around them and those that reside in the GoL castle. They clean the castle and serve meals and act as gophers ("go-get-it" --> "go-for-it" --> "go-fer-it" --> "gopher"). There are cooks, food-servers (who also set tables and clean up afterwards), and cleaners. To be one of these, you should be level 31.
Peasants All beginning members, regardless of beginning level, start out as a peasant. Peasants till the fields, tend the cows and sheep and do many other highly important jobs which sustain the rest of the community/clan. The clan relies on the peasants, therefore making them a very important asset to the community. After being a peasant for at least one level or one week, whichever comes first, you may e-mail the king or queen to apply for a new rank, otherwise, you may appoint yourself a Royal Servant, thus entering the royal realm.
