| After months of waiting we finally receive the first new console game of Yu Yu Hakusho for the ps2. I have to admit that I was really excited about this title. One look at the graphics had me convinced enough to buy the game on release day. After only playing it for a few minutes I could tell that this game was only going to be a little less then average. First off the game has somewhat sluggish controls while inputing moves. You could input the move but it would be a two second delay before the move happens on screen. This was the same problem that I had with the Dragonballz Budokai games. So after awhile I just got use to the controls when I noticed something weird about the graphics. This is one really glitchy game. There are times when you beat your opponent that they will just fall through the ring for no reason. Or sometimes when you beat certain characters they stand up twice before they lose. These are problems that could have been corrected very easily if the developer took more time. There is also one thing that really botherd me the most about the graphics. The characters show no emotion on there faces when they are being hit. I found that be strange since the playstation 2 can indeed do that. Just take a look at Dragonballz Budokai. With the games sluggish controls and glitches it really doesn't even make it worth a rental. But wait! They included a special mini game in this game (which I thought was going to be the official YuYu Hakusho trading card game). The mini game is played with special tokens you receive if you win fights in the games various game modes. The token game can be fun but you can win with the same deck everytime if you really try. I can only recommend this game to fans of the series and the Dark Tournament in particular. | ||||||||||||||||
