REVEREND
May a religious leader be called Reverend? There is only one scripture in the entire Bible that uses that term, and it appears in the King James version/translation.
Psalm 111:9 He sent _______________________________ to his people; he has commanded his covenant forever: ______________________________ and _______________________________ is his __________________.
 Whose name is reverend? ________________________
Should any man make himself equal with God by using the same title? ___________________________
Has all of this study led us into legalism? It is indeed legalistic if all we do is keep the rules. We can be biblically correct in absolutely everything, and yet be lost. Jesus knew all the "deeds and hard work" the church in Ephesus was doing. He knew they did "not tolerate wicked men" but tested them. He knew they'd endured hardships for Jesus. But they'd "forsaken their first LOVE." "Remember the height from which you have fallen!" Jesus told them. Jesus said they had to repent or else he would remove them from being a recognized church." (See Revelation 1:20 - 2:6) They had become legalistic by omitting genuine love for God and for others.
In matters of command, obedience.
In matters of opinion, tolerance.
In matters of method, judgment.
In all things, love.
