Welcome to the Goats Etc loyal guard HQ.

Here you will find information on our rescued dogs and puppies.
Most of the dogs we get have been abused, neglected, abandoned or on death-row at the local pound.

Currently, we only have 2 dogs.  We were able to find good homes for all 8 puppies and their mother, and are happy to report that all puppies are doing great!
This is Baxter, the resident Border Wolf (Wolf X Border Collie hybrid) ... as you can see, he is not a cuddle-me kind of dog.  He was brought here after biting a 5 year old girl.. but it was not the dogs fault which is why we agreed to give him a second chance.  Baxter, like alot of dogs, can and will be protetive over his food.  If a small child-sized hand comes and tries to take his food away, he will bite.  The girl only got 4 stitches and is doing fine.... Baxter had two choices - death or Goats ETC.

For the first week after his arrival, he was kept in a muzzle most of the time.  However, it has been a couple months since Bax arrived and he has warmed up to both my mother and myself. He has come to enjoy our company, and I enjoy his.  Bax is a large dog and likes to jump up for hugs, which can be intimidating as his teeth are just inches from my neck when he does this.
On the up-side, Baxter is an excellent guard dog, is generally timid of most things including the occasional passer-by box turtle, and is only aggressive out of fear or during feeding time if he is teased.

Baxter is NOT, and will NOT be, for adoption, so please do not ask.

He is a permanent resident here at Goats ETC/The Serenity Ranch due to his unpredictable nature, and due to those individuals that may attempt to illegally fight him.  We as his caretakers understand his nature for the most part and accept the dangers that may come from handling Baxter.
He is a very large and powerful dog, but he also has a very curious, sweet, harmless side... he is simply a victim of neglect when it comes to his public manners.
