Turkey is partialized into seven major geographical regions according to differences on the climate and habitat.
Each and every region has it's unique carecteristics that allow visitors to experience all four seasons at the same time.
These climate and habitat differences are also effected the peoples socio-culturel and economic life style wich the visitors can withness.
THE MARMARA REGION
Located to the north-west of the country,  includes Trakya that constitudes European territories of Turkey.
The region seperated by Bosphorus the Marmara Sea and Dardanells.
Major cities are; Edirne, Istanbul, Kocaeli(Izmit), Bursa, Balikesir and Canakkale.
THE AEGEAN REGION
Located to the west of the country.
The region takes it's name from the Aegean Sea located between Turkey and Greece.
Major cities are; Izmir, Aydin, Kutahya and Afyon.
THE MEDITERRANEAN REGION
Located to the south of the country at the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.
Major cities are; Antalya, Alanya, Isparta, Mersin, Adana, Antakya and Iskenderun.
THE BLACK SEA REGION
Located to the north of the country at the shores of the Black Sea. The region divided into three parts in itself as Western, Central and Eastern Black Sea Regions.
Major cities are; Samsun, Giresun, Trabzon, Ordu and Artvin.
THE CENTRAL ANATOLIAN REGION
Located at the hearth of the Anatolian peninsula.
The region includes Ankara, the capital city of the country.
Major cities are; Ankara, Bolu, Nevsehir, Aksehir, Konya and Karaman.
THE EASTERN ANATOLIAN REGION
Located to the east of the country.
The highest mountain of the country Agri is in this region.
Major cities are; Agri, Van, Kars, Erzurum, Erzincan and Sivas.
THE SOUTH-EASTERN ANATOLIAN REGION
Located to the south-east of the country. The region hosts the Ataturk Dam included in GAP which is one of the biggest construction projects of the country.
Major cities are; Urfa, Diyarbakir, Gazi Antep, Kahraman Maras, Adiyaman, Siirt and Mardin.
