HABITAT AT THE RESERVE | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The Hidden Urban Gnome Reserve & Sanctuary is planted thickly with native ferns, trees, flowers, herbs, blackberries and wild grapes. For Garden Gnomes, we have Gardens and Livestock. We strive to as closely simulate a Gnomes natural environment as possible, without arousing the suspicion of unknowing passers-by in the Urban environment. |

We utilize discreet security measures such as our 6 foot tall wooden privacy fence, which is reinforced with chain link fencing and strategically placed combination locks, and a resident Brown Bear, who is disguised as a large furry dog protecting his smaller statured friends. In this manner, HUGRS remains hidden from outside observers and protected from large predators which might hunt or frighten the resident Gnomes.
Despite our high security, designed to keep potential predators out, Gnomes are able to freely come and go from the Sanctuary. Gnomes utilize numerous Gnome doors and secret Portals, which can only be opened by members of GnomeKind. A popular Gnome destination within the Twin Cities area is Lake Calhoun, located a mere couple of miles from the Sanctuary. In addition to the Human-watching, beautiful scenery and relaxing lake atmosphere, Gnomes frequently visit the lake to speak with Mr. Little Guy, a famous elf who resides in a tree next to the lake. |

A sense of safety and security envelopes all Gnomes at the Reserve, which is so important in the process of gently easing them back to a more natural rhythm of life.
Gnomes often learn about the Reserve through word of mouth, coded letters passed along through the Gnome Underground, and serepticious surfing of the internet. |
