August Meeting Minutes

There is a $200.00 check paid to Travelers Aid Society that is outstanding. Triness Kuhn asked Mike Popkin to find out if this check has been lost. John Plott attended the June meeting but failed to pay for the meeting/meal. Kathryn Smith will contact John to have him send in the payment. Patrick Connolly did the year end audit of the books and found no discrepancies. Triness Kuhn will turn the checkbook over to Barbara Jacob on August 21, 2002. Treasurer's Report approved. Moved by Melanie Gonzales, second by Kathryn Smith.

New Business:

Rob Perry posed the question of purchasing "Quicken", an accounting program. The Board approved this purchase. Barbara Jacob, the 2002-2003 Treasurer, will make the purchase.
There is a CD that matured in July 2002. Rob Perry asked if we should cash it in and use the funds to purchase items for the International Conference. Barbara Jacob suggested we wait to see if additional money is needed before cashing the CD since there is a penalty for cashing it before the maturity date of February 2004. The Board decided to wait.
There are a few people who are registered with ARMA International's Chapter 99 but who live within GNO-ARMA's area. Rob Perry suggested we offer a free one-year membership to encourage them to join GNO-ARMA. The local chapter registration fee is $25.00 per year. The Board approved this move.
Rob Perry will announce the 2002-2003 Board Members at the Bosses Luncheon. Rob will also announce that Julia Vercher has been named Member of the Year.
Julia Vercher said that as of August 15th there were 1,251 people registered for the International Conference. She said that this number is below expectations. She will continue to monitor the registration numbers.
