January Meeting Minutes

Barbara read the treasurer's report. The bills were approved and the checks were disbursed. As of December 31, 2003 there was a balance of $6090.15. The CD will mature on February 12. A motion was made by Rob and seconded by Gaylane to roll over the CD for another year. Motion was approved.

Minutes from Previous Board Meeting:

Melanie motioned to approve the minutes - it was seconded by Barbara. Minutes approved.

1. Gaylane does not have a speaker for the February meeting. Since there are problems of holidays and parades in February, it was suggested that we skip the meeting. Barbara motioned and Melanie seconded to skip the February meeting. All in favor - motion passed.
2. Future meeting topics: Computer Forensics, How to Develop a Records Retention Schedule. Speaker on the Patriot Act. Barbara will try to get the name of a contact in David Vitter's office and call Gaylane with it. Melanie will contact the US District Attorney's Office and her Senator's Office to get some information.
3. Spring Seminar: Tentative Date - Wednesday April 21, 2004 at the Port of Louisiana. Maximum of 32 people. Topics: Email Retention and Stress.

Kathryn reported that Jennifer called all inactive members in hopes of getting better member attendance. Melanie will delete the names of all inactive members from the email list.

President's Report:

Kathryn sent out an email asking if there were any new members for the member drive contest. Only one entry at this time.

Donation to the New Orleans Archives - one time donation of $100. Gaylane motioned and Melanie seconded. Motion approved. A motion was made to do a 50/50 ticket sale at the meetings to raise money for the future yearly donation to the New Orleans Archives. Motion approved.
