Our Ancestors
Once upon a time in Sumter County, South Carolina, there lived a minister by the name of James Andrew Gamble.  He was a loving spouse to his wife, Mary Jane McDaniel Gamble.  They loved each other dearly, and they produced five beautiful children.  There were pretty little Katie, affectionate Arthur, friendly "Knute",  handsome Ira James, and charming little Alethia.
As time passed, Ira James Gamble became a well-known minister, like his father.  He pastored at several large churches in the states of Pennsylvania and Ohio.  Working with him spiritually was his loyal, and ever faithful wife, Elizabeth Lane Gamble.  God blessed their union with sons, Ira James, Jr. and Kenneth Lane, and deceased children: Laura Zelyme, Graticia Desmonia and Julius Andrew.
In the town of Maxton, North Carolina, charming little Alethia found peace and happiness with her husband, Lane McEachin.  They became the proud parents of  Laguardia and Wilbur, and deceased children Juanita, Ladame, Malone and Turnbo.
In Sumter, South Carolina, affectionate Arthur Gamble married Lula.  They produced no children, and both husband and wife lived very short lives.

All of James Andrew and Mary Jane's children were united in marriage except Millard David "Knute" Gamble.  Knute died at the age of nineteen.

Today, we are one big family unit that began with Mary Jane and James Andrew Gamble.  From our ancestors, we have emerged with our own identities and names: McCoy, McEachin, McGriff, Reid, Coleman, Twitty, Robinson, Montgomery, Tate, Drew, Jones, Tillman, Williams, Miller, Green, Cunningham, Stevens, Church, Thornton, Nunnally, Crockett, Nivens, Marsh, Sanders, Clinton, Frazier, Stevenson, Lynn, Woodard, Scott, Dozier, Douglas, Shaw, Mickles, Talford, Perry, Wright, Blakeney, Broadway, Winfield, Duncan, Belk, Smith, Jones, Hall, Stevens, Wilson, and Harris.

These are our roots, and we encourage each of you to teach our children who they are.

As the children grew older, they married and produced families of their own.  Pretty little Katie made her roots in Lancaster, South Carolina, where she married Eugene McCoy.  They became the parents of  Alethia and Arthur Mae, and deceased children:  Mary Eugene, James Reuben, Catherine, Alice, Albert Burton and Helen.
