On June 29,2007 the doors to the new Golden Meadow Branch Library Historical Center were opened. The ribbon was cut by the volunteers, library officials and the mayor of Golden Meadow: Paul Chiquet, Beverly Arabie, Evelyn Anselmi, Peggy Duet, Lorraine Bouzigard, and Joey Bouziga (Mayor of Golden Meadow). The mayor, Joey Bouziga, gives a welcome speech as Evelyn and Peggy listen attentively. They had a good turnout for the Grand Opening. Louise Bouzigard and Evelyn rock while talking on the front porch. They are making the 'vaia' on a hot summer afternoon. Lorraine and Beverly take a break. There was a lot of interest in the many photographs on display. The occupation exhibit was very enlightening. It shows the proper attire for four different occupations: Fishing, oystering, trapping, and the oil field. An aerial map of Golden Meadow on display. To see more pictures, click Here .
