For You Mom
by Gloria Thompson (Dawson)

When I was young you taught me right from wrong, The times I cried, you wiped away my tears with your soft loving hands. Your loving arms always open and ready to receive me and give me love.

In times of trouble you were right by my side to guide me in the right direction.
Although your stern and forceful tones used at times made me scared and angry with you then, I now know why you were that way to me.

You always knew best and your words are wisdom.
You try your best and give your best effort in everything you do. Everything you come in contact with, everything you touch, you give a ray of sunshine.

Youve shown me since I was a little girl that I was special and loved and never made me feel different about having diabetes.  You taught me how to stand up for myself and speak up about all I believe in.

I learn everyday more about the person I am through you and having this blessing called diabetes.
Thank you Mom for giving so much of yourself to me.
