About my plans for the future.

The journey through life is continually changing. One must be flexible, yet resilient. Maintaining that type of attitude helps make it a wonderful experience.

As I contemplate the idea of the future, there is really a great journey ahead. I have been able to retire early enough to change my 'career' focus to a 'play and part-time work' focus. We have settled into our retirement home outside of Jonesborough on our property located in Washington County, Tennessee. The largest nearby town is Johnson City, the home of East Tennessee State University (ETSU).

In addition to the easy-going mountain life, we also plan to travel. I would love to travel throughout America, taking my time on the backroads. My only trip abroad may be to Wales, the land of my ancestry.

View of the Smoky Mountains
One of my favorite areas of the United States is the Great Smoky Mountains. As one of our National Parks, it has a lot to offer. You might read the Smokies Traveler.

Over the Appalachian Ridge from Tennessee is North Carolina. The western mountain area is a wonderful place to visit. Stopping in Asheville, you might visit the Biltmore Estate, or you might visit Chimney Rock Park.

Many people enjoy the history and beauty of the New England states. I hope to get back up to that area, having been away from there for a few decades. The scenery is quite breathtaking anytime of year, but especially in the fall.

Fall Foliage of New England

There are many places in other states which would be great fun to visit as well.
