Ash
Support: Verious rubbish pop bands.
Venue: Plymouth Hoe
Date: 08/01
This wasn't a gig as such as it was only a radio one live Sunday thing and the Ash set itself only consisted of 4 songs. Which were Burn, Baby, Burn, Kung Fu, Shining Light and Oh Yeah. We had only found out about this gig after reading a radio listing on the morning of it and we decided to go down seen as we were on holiday in Devon at the time. We had seen Ash about a month befor this gig (see Ash Signing) and we felt as if we were fallowing them around.
The first band on were Damage who were not singing live as usual and we stood there waiting for them to finish, they played two songs but it seemed ages. The next band was Soul Sold Crew who were quite good live, and then went on a few weeks later to hit number one with that annoying 21 seconds song. After Soul Solid Crew we waited in anticipation for Ash to come on, they were introduced by Steve Lomaque (Spelt Wrong) and when they did come up the crowd went mad. The first song they played was Burn, Baby, Burn and it was really great for the day as it was the hottest day of the Summer and it sounded like a summer song. The next song Kung Fu got everyone singing along as it is a really catchy tune as did Oh Yeah. Shining Light was also really well played and sounded really good live. After that we left as Five were coming on and they aren't my kind of thing.
All in all I had a good time but I wish they had played more as they are good live but maybe didn't have the time to show it.
