| 1. What/who inspires your lyrics? Loads of stuff - generally, whatever I've been reading or watching or listening to, conversations I've had, or overheard. That and feeling like I'm banging my head against the wrong brick wall. 2. What do you prefer, touring or recording? Both rule in different ways. I love touring because it's non-stop, and you feel like you're actually going somewhere, and you get to meet new people in places you'd probably never have otherwise been to, like Aberdeen, or, er, Colchester. Touring makes you realise how lovely people can be. Recording is much healthier because you eat and sleep properly, and hearing your tunes recorded is a total buzz, as is bouncing ideas around and fucking around with arrangements and generally being a clueless muso. Both can be draining and dull; both beat working in Tesco. 3. Who have you liked touring with the most? Antihero. They're so NICE. 4. Whats your strongest political belief? That true Socialism is the only way we'll ever get things sorted out; and that we'll inevitably have to. 5. What was school like for you? It was like hell without wheels. 6. Favorite Simpsons quote (if you watch it)? Mr Burns: "And in this room, I have 100 monkeys working at 100 typewriters. Eventually, they will create the greatest work of fiction known to man! (Looks over monkey's shoulder) What's this? 'It was the best of times, and the MURST of times'? You stupid monkey!" 7. Whats your favorite Miss Black America song? Montana. 8. What kept you going as a teenager? I don't know. I'm just stubborn. 9. Who are your favorite new bands? The Martini Henry Rifles, Liars, The Datsuns, Tex La Homa, Antihero, The Dawn Parade, BRMC, The 80's Matchbox B-Line Disaster, The Libertines, Blue Gandhi. 10. What scares you about being famous? All that scares me is not having this band. |
