| 11. What's your vision of a perfect world? Where we've realised that there is enough to go round, and done away with money altogether. Like in Star Trek. Making sure people get their fair share and looking after each other doesn't proclude the right to be yourself, to express yourself as you wish, or to chase your goals. It just means that it's your accomplishments that count, rather than your acquisitions. I think we will get there eventually, but it'll probably take some kind of catastrophe before we admit that something needs to change. It won't be during our lifetimes; but we will grow up, because we'll have to. 12. If you could be any cartoon character who would you be? Batman. He's so cool, he's practically a ninja. 13. Are your for or against downloading free music from the net? For - it's the best thing that's ever happened to music. It won't stop people from buying things - buying music is still a fetish thing, really. But it prevents having to track down a copy of a totally shit album just for one good song. Basically, if you're not Britney Spears, it needn't worry you. 14. What qualities do Neil, Mike and Gish as well as you bring to Miss Black America? We write as a band, and Mike comes up with a lot of the vocal and guitar lines. The only thing I write nearly all of is the lyrics. The problem with me being a gobby bastard in interviews is that everyone assumes I'm in charge of everything, which isn't the case. Most of the time, I sit listening to them, 'cause they're hilarious. We're best mates, basically. Except Gish, who hates me. 15. Your fanbase is growing; have you ever encountered any strange fans? Yes. 16. Who would play you in 'Miss Black America - The Movie' Brad Pitt. Or Natalie Portman. 17. What do you sing in the shower? Today it was 'New Born' by Muse. Whatever song I wake up humming. 18. Whats your favorite joke? Where do you go to weigh a whale? At the whaleweigh station! Totally, totally lame. Ask Mike, his jokes are better. 19. If you could take credit for writing any song ever made, which song would it be? It's between 'Here With You' by Tex La Homa, 'Instant Street' by dEUS, 'Yes' by the Manics or 'Cloud On My Tongue' by Tori Amos. 20. Any last words? Do you mean an epitath? It'll probably be, "He tried. Oh, man, he tried." That or, "Bugger." |
