                          Ladwig- Belschner Nuptials

"With June, the month of roses, Cupid has become exceedingly active.   Among the others, was the enjoyable wedding at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Ladwig, on Wednesday evening, June 10, 1914, at 5:30 o'clock, when their daughter, Miss Rose E., well known as a nurse in this community, was united in holy wedlock with Mr. Henry J. Belschner, of Hawkeye,   Rev. C. F. Hillman, minister of the Evangelical church officiating. Only immediate relatives were present.   Choice blessings to their life's journey."

"Married, at Waverly, Sunday, April 7, 1907, Adolph F. Ladwig and Miss Josephine Rachow, Rev. Wm. Lang performing the ceremony.   They are a worthy couple and of our best young people, and many friends will wish them a happy and prosperous married life.   Mr. Ladwig has a position in Oelwein, whither we presume they will go to establish a home."
At the residence of the officiating clergyman, Rev. S.W. Fuchs, Tuesday, Feb. 12, 1901, Miss Lena Sack to Mr. Charles H. Ladwig.

The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Anna Sack, and Mr. John Buckley was the groomsman.   After the ceremony the wedding party went to the home of the bride's mother in Jacksonville township for a short stay.   The couple will reside on the groom's farm four miles northwest of Sumner.

The bride is well and favorable known here.   The groom is a stranger to our people, but is very highly spoken of.   We extend best wishes.

Newspaper article, Dec 1912;

"
Miss Opal Ladwig, one of Sumner township's fair school ma'ams, was united in marriage to Mr. Guss Treloar at the residence of the bride's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Gust Ladwig at New Hampton, Tuesday afternoon, Dec 24th, by the Methodist minister.   The bride wore a white net dress, very becoming to her.   Refreshments were served by Mrs. Ladwig and the happy couple made to feel that their start in married life was beautiful and auspicious.   We understand that the wedding was a surprise to bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Amos Ladwig, of this city. In fact, the couple kept it so quiet that but a very few intimate friends suspected the near approach of this event.   The bride who is teaching in Chickasaw county up by Herman Wuttke's, will finish out her term, after which they will go to housekeeping on the farm with the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Treloar."
