DAHCOTAH
This is the original line up of a band that lasted ten years from 1970 to 1980 albeit with some change of members and style. In the back row of this laid back boogie band are Rick Oltman, Ross Camarata and Al Eacret. In front are myself, Randy Miller and Dave Parker.
Like Spinal Tap had a problem keeping drummers, we had the same issue with bass players. When Al and Rick left the band we hooked up with Frank Wiewel and we all moved to Fort Dodge, Iowa where he was part owner of a recording studio. I switched to a SG and Ric 12 string. We released a single in 1976 called "Too Easy To Love" which was a moderate success in a few markets but we never got the big record deal we were hoping for. If you would like to hear it, click here. It may take a few moments depending on your modem speed.
Here we are at the Iowa State Fair. When they wouldn't let us play an encore because of the schedule a riot broke out and they had to call out the national guard. I'm not making this up.
Frank left the band and Ross took over the bass playing chores. After a bus trip to see Mott the Hoople in Kansas City, we went English glam and toured the club and ballroom circut all over the midwest.
Ross flew the coop and we got a new bass player, Mike (Daddy Wags) Wagner. He's in the back center if you're not keeping track. I went with a Telecaster and and a Strat.
The final show with the final lineup. Surprise, it's a new bass player! That's Niles Naaktgeboren there on the left,
In fond memory of my friend and
bandmate Ross Camarata who passed
away in 2004. May he rest in peace when
he's not jamming with Jimmie.
