The Bridal Party

Alison Hunt Matron of Honor I became friends with Alison at the end of our junior year while living in the Gamma Phi Beta house, which is now amazingly five Little 500s in the rear view window. We continued our adventures together after school by moving in together (along with fellow GPB, Jaime Johnson) in Lincoln Park and actually working together as well at KPMG. Whether it be renting a movie or hitting the town, Alison has always been a great friend, and someone that I will cherish forever. Alison and her husband Matt were married on May 15, 2004 in Crystal Lake, IL. Alison and Matt live in Chicago (they just bought a new place) and works for Prairie Packaging. Alison has always been a great listener and a constant support in my life. We have been through a lot together and I know that I can always count on her. I am so grateful to have Alison in my life, and am so excited that her and Matt will be living so close.
Carolyn Smith Maid of Honor- Carolyn is also an IU grad, however, it wasnt until the good ole days at KPMG that we met and became fast friends. Carolyn previously lived very close to the apartment that Alison, Jaime and I shared so we were always hanging out together and complaining about work. Carolyn and I of course had to do everything together and we put in our resignation on the same day, and moved on to better things. Carolyn is one of my best friends, and I am so happy that she can be there for me on the big day. Carolyn currently works at Kraft Foods in the Sales Finance division, and resides in Chicago.
Kristen Cooney Kristen and I met in the fourth grade, when we were paired up to be passing partners on our traveling soccer team- the Blue Streaks. Later on we realized that we both went to the same school, and were in the same math class. We have been through a lot since then- going through junior high, high school- getting caught at our first party drinking- just to name a few. We have definitely matured since then, and I am glad that Kristen is still a part of my life, and that she is standing up in the wedding. Kristen and her husband Steve were married in October 2001, and live in Plainfield IL.
Sarah Cooper (a.k.a Cooper) Sarah and I were sorority sisters in Gamma Phi Beta, however, it wasnt until our senior year and thereafter that we became such good friends. Sarah is engaged to be married to Chris Nickoloff on July 10, 2004 in Nashville TN, and I am honored to be a part of their special day. Sarah and Chris also have a black lab Gypsy, who Jack considers one of his many lady friends. This past year Sarah received her teaching certificate and is looking to teach in the Chicago Public School District as an elementary teacher.
Bridget Glynn I have always wanted a sister, and could not have asked for a better one. Bridget is a great friend, and definitely fun to hang out with. Unlike many of our friends tonight, she chose not to go to school in some small town in Indiana, but rather New Orleans at Tulane, which allowed for some great visits by Bob and I. Bridget graduates in May 2004 (affording us yet another visit to the French Quarter), with a political science degree (watch out Hillary) and will move on to big things I am sure.
Tove Henningson Ah, where to even begin with this one. It all starts with my parents, who were living in Sweden and met Toves parents and became fast friends. Since it is such a small world the Henningsons (years later) ended up moving to Naperville, and they had a daughter my age, which at this time we were probably about 11. Tove and I became friends-maybe because we were forced to hang out when our families got together- who knows. We used to dress alike and try to be as similar as possible - took gymnastics together and would always go swimming together. Unfortunately, during our teenage years, Tove and her family moved back to Sweden. Of course this didnt stop us - I had the privilege to visit her in Sweden a couple of times, and she would come back during summers to visit. Bob and I met up with Tove in London the summer after we graduated from college to hang out for the weekend before we ventured to Ireland. Tove is currently in school in Sydney Australia, working on her law degree. I am thrilled that she will be making the very long trip to be a part of our wedding. The Henningsons have always been a second family to me, and hopefully they will also be able to make the trip from Sweden to share this day with us.
Micki Kidder Micki was one of the first people to meet Bob, as she had an internship for PwC- (yes another bean counter) in Chicago the summer that we met. As newlyweds (August 2003), Micki and her husband Scott recently moved to Granger, IN, which is fairly close to Notre Dame and I think it is that is why Bob is always telling me to go and visit them- so he has an excuse to go to the football games. We were all sad to see her leave, but I think I see and talk to her more now than I did when she lived in Chicago. Micki is a great listener, and I know that I can always count on her for anything. Micki and Scott are the proud parents of Sydney, a yellow lab puppy (another one of Jacks girlfriends).
Miranda Ward Miranda and I have been friends since the fourth grade at Maplebrook Elementary School. Even though we went to college in different states (Miranda is a Hawkeye), she has stayed one of my closest friends. Miranda now lives in Glendale Heights IL, with her husband, Craig, but thankfully she works for Aon downtown, which enables us to meet for lunch on a regular basis to catch up things and stay as close as we were growing up. Miranda is one of the most organized people I have ever known and she is the glue that holds all of our high school group together.
Jimmy Glynn -Best ManJimmy has been my older brother and friend for as long as I can remember. We have been through a lot together, whether it be helping me to drink for the first time, or being there on New Years Day to buy you an Extra Value Meal to help cure that hangover. I was glad to be there when Jim got married over two years ago, and now I am proud to have him stand up for me. Jim owns his own business, www.usacouponclub.com, and lives with his wife, Alison, in Austin, TX.
Steve Allan -Steve lived with Travis and I (along with Brett Huelat and Chris Klein) in Lafayette senior year at Notre Dame. While I knew my roommates pretty well, I wasnt sure how everything would work out living together. A lot of apartments assign cabinets and shelves in the refrigerator to each person, which causes endless fights when a piece of cheese goes missing. This never happened at our place. We basically bought as much food as possible and then left it up to Steve to prepare, which he did admirably many times and usually on Wednesday nights along with a lot of wine to the detriment of my Thursday classes. Steve lives with Jason Carri (at the bar as well) in Hoboken, NJ, where he works (loose definition of the word works) for AT&T.
Coley Brady-If you read Heathers descriptions of her bridesmaids, you may have picked up on an accounting theme throughout. Coley, too, spent some time with KPMG, before moving back to South Bend to take a job with Crowe Chizek. While I have known Coley since the freshman year of Notre Dame (he might tell you a story about how I might have broken the phone in his dorm room), we did not become good friends until about the same time I met Heather. Coley, Brad (see below) and Kyle Capshaw (see the bar at the wedding) all lived together for one of the best summers ever, aside from the lack of air conditioning, during our internships in Chicago before our senior year. Coley, Heather, and myself all interned at KPMG, and I was obviously a little better than Coley at picking up interns, which would change later.
Vishal Chandra-I have know Vishal since grade school, where we played various sports, such as football, basketball, and volleyball for St. Thomas Moore. Vishal also went to Rockhurst, where we became good friends soon after my family moved in down the street from his. Excellent times were had throughout high school, and especially on the holidays and summers home from college, and they usually involved me bringing my dads beer to Jordan Gutweilers (hes at the bar as well) lake house or basement, or meeting up at Kennedys. Vishal has completed medical school and is beginning his medical residency at an as yet undetermined location in the fall of 2004.
Travis DeLucenay-I traveled abroad the first semester of my junior year, which kind of put me in a bind for finding an apartment for senior year. All of the best apartments (Lafayette, while not by definition the best was the most fun) were booked early on. Luckily, Travis and I tended to sit near the back of our accounting classes, and soon I learned that he had a five-man apartment in Lafayette, but only had three people, which is a problem I was glad to remedy for him. Travis is in his final year of law school at Marquette.
Brad McDonald-Brad and I met when we attempted to play rugby our freshmen years at Notre Dame (to the dismay of my parents), however, due to some unfortunate shenanigans pulled by our predecessors, the team was disbanded by the university before we got a chance to participate fully. Brad lived in Chicago with Coley, Travis (see below) Stephane Auriol (he is with Kyle at the bar), and myself, for two years after graduation in addition to our summer internship together. Brad lives in Denver and works for Aon, and enjoys using his five iron when he plays golf.
Alan Watts-Unfortunately for Heather and I, Alan decided a while back that living in the sun of Southern California is somehow better than seasonal climate of his native Chicago, preventing us from seeing him more often. That, however, just gives Heather and I excuse to make it out there, which will hopefully be soon to see the condo that he and Cynthia (girlfriend) recently purchased in San Clemente, CA (in between L.A. and San Diego). While this wedding will cause everyone to miss the last ND home game of the year against Pitt, I am just thankful that it falls before the USC game, as Alan is a USC grad (feel free to taunt him).
Ray Wicklander-Well, if you read the bridesmaids descriptions, you also would have noticed another theme throughout, they are almost all married. With the exception of my older brother, Ray is the only one standing with me who has also taken the plunge. Ray and I were in the same dorm at Notre Dame (Morrissey) and also lived together at Campus View apartments, along with Brendan Browne, Corey Clay, and the fifth roommate during our junior year. The times at Campus View were probably among my favorite times at ND, as it was our first time living off campus and the most important thing in the world revolved was foosball (especially the invention of the AQS). Ray lives in Chicago with his wife, Molly, but only until he moves to London in September to get his MBA from the London School of Economics. Congratulations Ray.
