Abby was breeder-owner handled to championship. She won both majors going over Specials (BOS at 6 months old and BOB at 9 months old) and finished at 12 months old. Abby was a delight to show and to watch as she captivated the judges and the spectators. Her style and grace were impossible to overlook and she would not be upstaged. She was a multi-group placer and had many quality Breed wins; she was #1 breeder-owner-handled Ridgeback in 1985.
We enjoyed showing Abby so much, we delayed breeding her until she was almost four. That breeding to Ch. Turoka Globe's Casino Renose produced 12 puppies - no ridgeless, no sinus. Unfortunately 3 died due to a bacterial infection and a 4th in an accident. Of the surviving eight, seven matured into show quality and four finished: Ch. Globe Ca-Abi Reign On Teaser, ROM, Ch. Globe Ca-Abi Iron Eyes Cody, Ch. Globe's Gen Eli of Caneriver, and Ch. Globe's Casino Shaka Mzazi, TT. Two others were pointed (10 and 9 points). Teaser was a multi-group placer and information on him is shown elsewhere. Eli was also a group placer. Shaka is the dog from whom frozen semen was exported to South Africa (see information about the South African connection in our history).
"Shaka" was owned by Pat and Jim Hoffmaster. He was a black nose, dark red wheaten. Shaka is, to our knowledge, the first Ridgeback from whom frozen semen was imported into South Africa (see information about the South Africa Connection in information about Globe).
"Eli" was owner-handled to his campionship by Laura Whitaker and was a group-placer. He was a brown nose and a happy-go-lucky guy.
"Jazz" was a clown - the happiest fellow. He was a brown nose, red wheaten, with a beautiful gait. He was breeder-owner-handled to his championship.
